One distinguishing feature of Barca's off the field conduct, is the way they do not respect any team in the press. I was always wondering how a big club like Barcelona lets its players conduct themselves the way Barca's players did in the Fabregas saga. But now i see Rosell making these statements to the press
"The players won without difficulty"
"The first goal was an accident, it could have happened in any stage of the game. But when we started to get possession of the ball and the midfielders took control, there was only going to be one outcome"
When your president makes these kind of comments in the press(mind you it isnt the first time), a culture of being unprofessional in the media, being unsporting towards opponents (opening up the sprinklers against Inter comes to mind), not respecting opposition is bound to spread from the management to the players to the fucking groundsmen. Their explicit, codified mission and organizational values are all about fair play, being socially responsible, more than a club etc. But implicitly, its a club that doesn't punish players for being unprofessional and disrespectful to other teams, on the contrary it encourages it. This wide gap between rhetoric and reality is what makes many people dislike Barcelona despite their football, nurturing of young talents etc.
Fuck Sandro Rosell and fuck Barcelona.
