To prove himself further and test himself.
And why would he want to do that? By that logic, he should go to Siena, play for free and see if he can get them to win the CL.

It's not FM, footballers are people like everybody else, they have many reasons for their decisions, not just football. A lot of factors play a role, the wishes of their families, the place they want to live, where they feel comfortable... just like everybody else.

So why should Messi move when he has everything he could wish for?

Prove himself to whom? You? He's already won the Ballon d'Or even in the year he didn't deserve it and I'm fairly sure he doesn't care if Nicholas Leach doesn't consider him as one of the bests of all time.
He's won the Ballon d'Or in a time where there is next to no world class players in the current game.

People live in deception and imagine football world full of Zidane's.

Just like there were WC players before, there are now. The difference is that some did hit bigger legend status.

In 2009 and in 2011 (he'll win it) he completely deserves to win it since he was the best player of a CL winning team. Even if there were 5 other amazing players, he'd have won it looking at his numbers and achievements.

But the 2010 win was a farce.
Will CR win ballon d'or 2012 if Real wins La Liga but fails in CL, he completely flops at the EURO with Portugal, despite scoring +40 goals in the calendar year? He definitely won't. But Messi will win it even if his team won't win big trophies or if he flops hard in a big tournament with his NT.
It's simple. Barca and Messi are FIFA's and UEFA's puppies. I want a single argument against this statement of mine.

I don't really care about Ballon d'Or, I personally find it stupid and I agree with Melo on that one.

But the fact is that Messi doesn't need to prove anything at this point.

Exactly [] and that's the point. He wins awards even when he doesn't deserve it and people have been deluded into believing that there's never been a player as good as he is but he has to move to another club in order to make Nicholas Leach consider him as one of the best players of all time.

Yep, a serious cock sucking contest. Especially when you have dumb footballers that have zero football brains.
Indeed, the system with journalists was fine.

And Messi winning it last year was down to the voting by players/coaches. I remember Milito wasn't even in the shortlist, despite his performances at club level to win everything available.

He certainly doesn't need to prove anything on a european footballing aspect but if he really wants to cement his spot amongst the true footballing greats, he has to win a WC at least, hell even the Copa America.

It was just truly spectacular how Sneijder didn't win it considering his achievements for club & country IMO.

Sneijder wasn't even in the top 3, yeah, he was one of the top scorers and key players at the WC as well.

Looking at the results, it really is the footballing community getting off to Spain/Barcelona.
