Sony Vegas 5.0 (1 Viewer)

I don`t know if this is the right place to post this but I have maked a Juventus compilation in Sony vegas 5.0, and now I want to make it as a avi file or sumthing.
i pressed file and Render as and that took damn long time.
When it was finished opened I the file and it worked perfectley but the only problem is that the video who lasts for 3 mins takes over 600 mega bytes.
Isn`t there anyway to save it without making the file so damn big???

Save the file in Vegas, then open the 600MB file in Virtualdub and select DivX or whatever as your compression
