    Don't know how the Australians and Canadians spell it but that's not relevant for a European anyways so...
    we here in canada spell it "ou" and it is a big issue in formal writing since american culture has such an influence

    Hmm I dunno, I think dude is just easier to type because D and E are closer together and i get to type D twice ;) I'm pretty sure I say "mate" a lot more when i'm actually speaking

    I don't, but i know what u mean. There's these certain words that I always add an extra letter to, and very often the 'new' word isn't even a proper word. I even do it when writing
