Interesting how I've been served belgian history for 12 years, and have no real clue 'bout the history of our closest neighbour....

It's true that I find it bizarre that the NL are a Monarchy. You always seem extremely open, progressive, anticomformists,... Queen Beatrix doesn't really match that idea, does she?

That could be another ineteresting debate. Monarchy or Republic?

I'm all for a Republic but the reason I don't vote for the Republicans is because they're idiots - they don't actually have any real plans or substantial suggestions. They just hate the monarchy and they won't admit that the monarchy *has* done some good things too. They're too blinded.

Actually we don't have a two party system, so it's not really as simple as democrats or republicans. It doesn't matter anyway because no party would be silly enough to try to remove the monarchy. The only thing I hate with the monarchy is that the queen actually has political power, and now with Beatrix that's not a problem, but what if we ever get someone like prince Charles?
