I think some are over praising/criticizing Pepe. We know what his uses and faults are, and that's all there is. Fact is there's no one better in the position at the mo (does not mean he's great because he lacks certain important skills), but restricting him to "just running all over and giving his all" is untrue either, I think we really shouldn't undermine his defensive work - this is a contributor to a much better defense we have now. And he does make several important runs, can't shoot for shits, but some of these are/could be important in feeding our play. And I don't think it's appropriate to credit his assist today as a fluke - holding on to the ball when 3 were crowding in, and managing to squeeze that ball didn't look too easy.

Vucinic plays offensively, he's not a pure winger and it's not 4-4-2. Why not play Quag there?

Dont think he was awful, fairly useful out there, but not as a winger, it says everything about him that it was his task to cover for Lichtsteiner who played like RW alot for a while, and did it rather well. Pepe was mainly busy covering the right flank defensively, then hounding every loose ball like he was a young Gattuso. Great assist though.
