Always said he's a better player than many here think. Not a world beater by any means, but he is a hard worker that has a knack for scoring an occasional goal. A valuable squad member, that should be given the opportunity on the right wing, if Krasic doesn't return to his last years form.

He did nothing else apart from his goal. He can't cross, can't beat his defender and has a weak shot. Poor player.
He won back balls, had a few good crosses and made smart runs today. Ill be the first to say that he is nowhere near as good as his pricetag indicates - but hating on him just for the sake of hating when he actually had a solid match makes no sence.

You clearly fail to understand the demands of the position Pepe was played in. He's not at all pure winger whose only aim is to create or get a goal himself. He must also work hard in defence and track back always in order to help Lichsteiner. Today he contributed both in atack by scoring a goal and in defence helping Lichsteiner a great deal.

His performance today really surprised me in a positive way because this is what we need to motivate our other right midfielder - Krasic, to improve his game. The serbian must have competition for his place from other players or he might get used to the idea that he's a certain regular and in the end we'll see an ineffective and demotivated player.

I'm not saying Pepe is a great player, he barely even comes close to the definiton of a 'good player'. But he is a useful player to have in the squad. Nevertheless, performances like this today is perhaps the best he can do and sadly he doesn't show this kind of play often enough.
