tax evasion, violation of anti-pollution rules, falsification of tax reports, things like that. iirc he was convicted 6 times, mostly in the '90s. his italian wiki lists all that stuff, it's an unusually long list for someone in his position. he still got the support of most serie a clubs when running for the figc presidency, and despite his uefa ban for racism, when in almost every other european country he should have resigned, he remained in his position.

still disappointing when italian football should catch up and close the gap on the top3 championships. all serie a needs is a corrupted, bigot, racist old man in charge.

Selling Padoin under the new FIGC rules makes sense. He is not home grown and clearly over 21. His loyalty, low wages and relative dependability made sense but now every player that occupies a spot has to be used or should be sold.

If we get Mirante, we would effectively have 2 over 21 Home Grown players. So basically the squad has to consist of 23 players + the U-21 players. I think if it wasn't for the FIGC rules, we could have kept Padowan.

While I am on the topic of FIGC rules, I think they could backfire. Lets take Lirola for example. He is an exciting prospect. But we now have Alves and Lichsteiner and it would be a big call to bench either one for Lirola. We will feel tempted to keep him rotting on the bench or playing in the primavera where he should be loaned out to gain experience instead.

Ah, sad to see Pado go, he was our mascot and the best guy to troll all the SeriaA. He could be helluva coach though, guy with zero talent was good enough to play for Juve on 4-5 positions and 5 scudettos here, you got to understand how football works to do it.
