The only gripe about his €5m is paying a fee for such a player, in the past we would usually sign freebies for this role, but of course you pay more towards salary when this happens. Padoin earns €0.7m.
And again, Padoin comes into a game with hardly any minutes and fits straight in to the system and tempo. Rather him than some wet-behind-the-ears-kid, that's what we have feeder clubs for. We aren't trying to develop a new Padoin, we are looking to make young players better than him, and 5 games per season won't do for them. When Padoin leaves we'll sign another experienced and versatile player like him.
