Claudio Marchisio’s late winner at the Artemio Franchi was no more than the Bianconeri’s efforts in Tuscany deserved.
The statistics from yesterday’s meeting with Siena show that Juventus enjoyed 67% possession and threatened Pegolo’s goal on 18 occasions.
Credit, however, should also go to Siena, who managed to keep their visitors at bay with several interceptions. Following close behind Barzagli’s 21 interventions were Neto, Vergassola, Paci and Felipe.
As far as completed passes are concerned, there’s little surprise at who lies top of the pile. Pirlo led the way with 75, followed by Chiellini on 63, Marrone on 54, Barzagli and Marchisio on 52 each and Vidal with 49.
Marchisio and Pirlo saw their attacking efforts pay dividends with a goal apiece in the 2-1 success. The ‘Little Prince’ represented the most significant threat with five attempts on goal, followed by Pirlo and Giovinco on four.
