I did something pretty bad, which is not putting my players in pre-season training and only playing two friendlies.
I used to get away fine with it in earlier versions, but here, I lost my first three matches!! It's a pity because, I think I did some good transfers. Aah, I'll come back and get a hold of the scudetto anyway.

Pre season training? You do special pre season trainings? Or are you talking about more friendlies?
Both. I usually put my players on a physically heavy training during July - beginning of August, while playing five or so friendlies.

I didn't do it this time (forgot, too lazy), and only played two friendlies (all of my others were cancelled).

Result: squad not on form for the first matches

We weren't/ are not a Cheater :disagree:
I know, you are cheaters, plural.
I have to buy this game. Is it too complicated?? I mean, is it too complicated that it will be boring??
No, it's not that complicated, and i don't find it boring at all.

that happened to me actually with my juve game first time. fucking annoying, especially since I had a very tough opening schedule. lazio, inter, genoa, la viola. i'm often too lazy to do pre-season training, but plenty of friendlies is a must. I just hate having to click through again and assign each player their positional training or their personal training

Mostly strength and aerobic. You can go heavy on them, and keep the rest very light.
Time wise, I start from the moment they come back from holidays until 5-6 days before the first real match.

heh I lost my first three matches: Milan (Supercoppa), Lyon (Euro supercup), Fio away (Serie A). I drew Roma away before getting into shape and beating Feyenoord and Milan.

Can you believe that? Fio, Roma, Milan as the opening of the Serie A? wtf!?

Here, I'll show you mine, I do it all year long.

I do a different kind of training, not positional, just a "custom general" for everyone.

Wow, thats kind a harsh on players :D And how does it work, do you have a lot of injuries? dont they get very tired in tight schedules? because i have very small squad, i think this would kill my players :)

Those of you who use more than one schedule, do you do for seperate players or just positions? I have, FB,DC, CM,AM,Wingers, and forward schedules.

I do a combination of both, depending on the players strengths and weaknesses. Some others I use are Target Man, Wing Back, Defensive Midfielder, and Libero

@ Burke, how does that work? good results? I'm also in to rotation, so I might try it with my Liverpool save game

Yea, it works really well with me. But again, i must stress that you need to rotate the squad, and also, keep injury prone players out. (For me they would be nuri sahin and ribery)
