wait...didn't Dheeraj do customer support for HP? as him,though he will deliberately jumble all the words together and disconnect your call just before you fix it....and then delibertately get his clueless mate to take your second call so you have to go through all the processes again

    Right, so thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

    I figured out a way to shutdown/restart my computer.

    It turns out one of the processes were not being closed when I shut down my computer. I was able to solve this by manually ending these processes through task manager.


    Can someone explain what Ubuntu is and why I should use it? Will it delete my data(songs, movies etc..)? Do you think that Ubuntu is compatible with Hp? Thanks.

    use :google: to find out more about Ubuntu,once you go Linux there is no going back

    oh and get an external hard drive for your important files
