Pessoto is a defensive player. nr. 7 is IMO for ofensive players.. and I think it will be perfect for Mutu..
For once I thought I'm the only person who thinks that #7 doesn't suit Pessotto. I think he should wear #6 though.

I like Zambrotta with #19. He has worn #19 for quite some time.

Cannavaro can wear #5, the number in which he wears for the NT :D

And it's quite silly that such a good defender, the captain of his national team, should wear the ridiculous number 28 shirt. Give him 4, 5, 6, I don't care but at least a normal number.

And Tacchinardi wears #3

Barzagli wears #43, 1 of the most ridiculous numbers that I have ever seen on a football player

Yeah, or Coco with #77. But Barzagli doesn't have the status of Cannavaro, or 80 caps, or is one of the most experienced members of the squad. The same goes for Thuram, I hope he too will get a decent number.

what difference does a number mean??

The players choose their jersey numbers from those available.

SWP jus chose 24, turning down 7, cos his son was born on the 24th

Cana chose 28...im sure there were other options.

Pesoto may not be a proper #7, but its his jersey.

Well, some players actually demand a specific shirt number during the contract negotiations, because it's important to them. The only shirts which still resemble a position nowadays are 9 and 10, the rest seems to be all mixed up with strikers playing with #3 and keepers with #11 and such.

Well, i think 7 is a really cool number and it should be worn by a really cool player. At Juve, I'd like to see Mutu wear 7. As much as I like Pesotto, i just feel he's better off with a less flambouyant number. :)

PS: Cannavaro must be given 3 or 5. Both of which are very solid numbers and would signify the strength Canna brings to our d line.

Let Pessotto wear Number 7 - it's his number for quite some time, now.. I would like to have Thuram and Canna have one-digit-numbers, though.
Not that it would matter, but 28 somehow doesn't suite Cannavaro... :D

Cannavaro should have #5, Pesso should switch to #6 and Mutu take the #7.

My personal favourite numbers are 8 and 10.
