good win if we stay like this we will be leading Serie B and the good thing is the first team now only is 15 point more than juve which means in 5 matches we will be at least in the top 5 teams , the bad thing that i noticed is dp was not happy when trez scored the second goal , he wanted his 200 goal but he must know that the team is more important than that.

Deschamps said that Del Piero was complaining cause the wall was always too close to the ball. And that it wasnt the first time it happened. DD said that Del Piero was happy that trezeguet scored

lol .. it looked like Alex was trying to claim the goal for himself...

last year there was a similar sort of heat up between Trez and Del piero as who was to play alongside a guy we used to have called Zlatan.. Trez said that he felt wht Alex was going through as he was trying to become Juve's top scorer (at that time).. and he was going through the same desire when he was aiming to become the best non italian goalscorer.... i know DD said otherwise, but i think alex felt that goal was taken away from him.

Juventus arrived at Piacenza’s ‘Garilli’ stadium this afternoon in search of a fourth straight victory in Serie B. Deschamps went with the pairing of Trezeguet and Del Piero up front, with Camoranesi and Nedved supporting on the flanks. Chiellini and Birindelli returned to the full back positions, while Kovac and Boumsong had the chance to build on their increasingly impressive partnership at the heart of the Bianconeri defence.

A tense first ten minutes as both teams looked gain a foothold on the game. Camoranesi provided the first action of the match in the 11th minute, launching a powerful half-volley towards goal from outside the area and forcing Coppola into a fine save. Juventus slowly began to take command of the midfield and the chances soon followed. Nedved and Camoranesi were causing trouble down the wings but it was Del Piero who came close to opening the scoring, his curling free-kick forcing another diving save from the Piacenza keeper in the 20th minute. The pressure began to mount and seven minutes later Coppola was called upon once more, parrying a dangerous Del Piero header from a Camoranesi cross and denying the Bianconeri the opener. Moments later, Buffon denied Cacia at the other end, pulling off a wonderful reflex save after a rapid Piacenza counter-attack. Deschamps was forced to make a change just before the hour mark, replacing the injured Giannichedda with Paro, and just a minute later, his team were in front. Nedved released Del Piero out on the left and the captain’s deft cross was met by the head of Trezeguet, sending the ball home to put the Bianconeri ahead (0-1). In the 33rd minute Nedved cut in from the left wing but his powerful right-footed effort was parried by Coppola. Juventus looked most likely to score next and on the stroke of half-time they doubled their lead. Del Piero tried his luck with a long range free-kick and saw his effort deflected into the back of the net by the head of Trezeguet (0-2). The goal proved to be the last action of the half and the Bianconeri entered the tunnel at the break with a commanding two goal lead.

With no changes from either side at half-time, the game followed a similar pattern to the start of the first half, both teams pressing hard to gain control of the midfield. Paladino looked lively on the right wing for Piacenza, cutting inside in the 54th minute and unleashing a powerful effort towards goal. Buffon made a comfortable save but it was clear the home side were not merely content with making up the numbers. Juventus defended well but were unable to dominate the middle third as they did in the first period. After a scrappy passage of play, Nedved registered the Bianconeri’s first real chance of the half in the 71st minute, changing gear out on the left and sending a piledriver towards goal with his right boot. Coppola dived to his left to make the save and the Piacenza defence cleared their lines. Paro and Del Piero tried their luck from distance but failed to hit the target and in the 77th minute the captain was replaced by Bojinov. The Bulgarian made an immediate impact, shooting from outside the area in the 79th minute, but Coppola watched as the ball travelled wide of his right post. Cacia caused problems at the other end, twice denied in the box at the crucial moment by the Juventus back line. In the 83rd minute Degano was released by Gemiti but his low drive skipped just wide of the left post. A minute later Camoranesi made way for Marchionni, and the Bianconeri came close to adding a third, Bojinov firing just over the bar from ten yards out after a neat Trezeguet lay-off. The pace of the game dropped considerably as Juventus closed out the game but Marchionni had other ideas, racing onto Trezeguet’s lay-off and having a go from the edge of the box in the 91st minute. His effort sailed high and wide but the Bianconeri weren’t yet finished, Bojinov’s deflected free-kick forcing Coppola into another fine save in injury time. Piacenza held on but Trezeguet’s first half brace proved to be decisive. :howler:

just finished watching the game. And it wasnt as easy as it seemed.Piacenza r a very a very good team and gave us a very tough time in the midfield and especially on the counter.

But the team played very well imo, played well as a unit.Everyone helped defensively and thats why we had the clean sheet.

gigi-had to make some saves, and they were very good.Liked the way he always talked to his defenders. Good game by the superman.

chiellini-had a solid game defensively, and he was alrite going forward.Liked some of his crosses.Had some mistakes at the back, but thats only due to lack of game time.

Kovac-Solid as always.Quiet but very effective.

Boumsong-Had his best game yet.Very effective and was more important was very confident.Keep up the good work JB

biri-had a better game than the ones before.Solid at the back and that is most important to me.

Gianni-Didnt look fit from the begining, but still he kept his usual game, ran hard and sprung the tackles all over the field.

Zanetti-Had a great game.Such a force offensively and defensively especially in the 2nd half.MOM for me.

neddy-Hes getting there to his best.Had his shooting boots for this game. And gave the keeper such a tough time.Linked very well with everyone.Slowly hes going to start scoring.

Camo-Had another good game.Showed his talents upfront and he helped biri at the back.Liked that hes given a free role in the midfield just like neddy, so u see him almost everywhere.

Alex-Had a better game than last week, he linked much better with trezi and the midfield.Ran hard, and set up two goals. His 200th will have to wait, but will come in the next game am sure of it.

Trezi-Hadn't zanetti had such a great game he would've been MOM.Hes soo on fire atm, that hes scoring, running hard, and even setting up the players with him.In the 2nd half he set up numerous opportunities, two golden ones for Boji and marchionni.

paro-The young kid didnt have the best of games but i will give him credit for his work rate and tackling.Dont know why he didnt play well, but his passing was awful and he still didnt push upfield. Lets hope its just an off day.

Boji-Showed his great talent and almost scored from a deflected free kick. He was told off by neddy for screwing up a counter attack by being selfish. Also trezi set him up infront of goal but he missed.Thought he should've been on a bit earlier though.

Marchionni-Wasnt on much but he missed a shot way wide from trezi and should've done better in a counter attack...But wont hold that on him cuz he isnt playing that much.

Seriously, why would even someone doubt Ale, If he was happy with David's goal. Remmber, thats Dp we're talking about. I don't think we need Didier to assure us that Dp wasn't complaining about David's goal.

Anyway I am glad he didnt score coz i want him to score his 200 in Torino & in front of his fans!!! Anyway next game will be away also & I think that DD will start with Boji & zalayeta!!!!!

I am very pleased with the team as a whole...we have certainly gelled well, and with the way we are playing right now, I think we could beat most Serie A teams

We controlled the entire game, and never really let them get into their offense going

The defense is improving (thank God !!), and made for an easy night for Gigi

The midfield controlled things well...Camo and Neddy worked well on the outside, while Zanetti had the middle totally under control. The jury is still out on the young Paro

Trez and DP did their job upfront...the only concern with the offense as a whole is the finishing. We had plenty of chances, and should have put in more than 2.

I gotta give Piacenza credit, they were down but never gave up...but Juve were just too strong for them, in every department

I am most satisfied with Juve as a team from this game

yep, he didnt have the best of games. He shows falshes of brilliance nothing more.Imo he needs a confidence booster...Although he should've had that after scoring in the first game.So i dont know wats going on with the kid.
We had plenty of chances, and should have put in more than 2.
They were falling for the wrong ppl :D.But yeah i agree, Bojinov had two chances and marchionni had one chance and those were clear cut chances but missed.
But if trezi keeps playing like he is then there wont be any problems upfront.
