Trez earns three-match ban
Sunday 11 March, 2007
David Trezeguet has received a three-match ban after video evidence showed him elbowing a Brescia player.
The Juventus hitman lashed out at Fabiano Santacroce during Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at the Stadio Martelli in Mantova.
The referee did not witness the incident, so video evidence was used for the Disciplinary Commission to reach its verdict.
According to the report, Trezeguet’s action in elbowing Santacroce was “violent conduct.”
The Frenchman will be suspended for games against Treviso, Triestina and Frosinone, but will be back for the top of the table showdown with Napoli on March 25.
