:agree: anybody know somethin' about the population of Torino!? Are they just lazy of what?
They all support Torino in Serie A. :p
This is right actually. The vast majority of Turin's population support Torino, this is attributed to the history of the town and the loyalty of the fans themselves.

If we return back to the 30's and 40's of the previous century, we'll find that Torino was amongst the greats in Italy. Also, it is no secret that "Grande Torino" widely considered the best ever team in Italian football history, won five other straight scudetti between 1942/43 and 1948/49. Hence, it wasn't a surprise that most of the football fans in Turin supported Torino.

But, in 1949, the disaster happened. All the team members were killed when their plane crashed, and ironically, just one player was lucky enough to keep his life because he was out for an injury. The club never recovered and they have been suffering until now.

The amazing part of the saga is that Torino are still very popular despite their situation, and also more popular than the greatest Italian team ever; Juventus, who is located in the same town; Turin.

Indeed, this isn't an exclusive speciality of Turin, but lots of European towns like Liverpool, Manchester, Barcelona, etc...are nearly the same as Turin.

You mean that the people in Barcelona support Espanyol, people in Manchester support City and the people in Liverpool support Everton??

Can't believe that there are more Espanyol fans than Barca fans in Barcelona:confused:

btw. great post:p

Actually, I have been to liverpool and Manchester a lot, most of the fans that I met support Everton and Manchester City. Actually, it might as well attributed to the same reasons as in Turin.

By the way, thanks. :cool2:

A person who made a great post just deserves to know it:p

:agree:
there are more liverpool fans in liverpool than everton fans though, but the majority of liverpool fans live outside of liverpool and even outside of england.

Almost all of manchester support man city, wouldnt know about espanyol barca tho

a theory for the lack of support in turin for juventus is that we have not named ourselves after the city, this is also clever marketing because it allows people all over the world to support us rather than narrowing it down to a certain city or region, if we were called AC Torino or something like that then we would not have as many fans throughout italy!

No. I believed you avtually, haha:p, cause I've heard somethin' about that was a lot of Toro fans in turin, but on the hand, I've also heard that about 1/3 of the football fans in Italy supported Juve, so was pretty confused:D :D
There are no less than 12,5 Million Juventini in Italy. Milan 5 Million, Inter 4,5.

Juve truly is grand :D :pint:

First of all I'm giving a deserved + rep for this post.

Secondly I knew it was the same in Manchester and Liverpool. But my question is which club is more popular in Barcelona?

PS: I can't plus rep you Ahmedios. It says I need to spread it more.

I've always thought/knew that BarcelonaFC has most fans in the capital of Catalans, but I've doubted since about 30 minutes ago:confused: :p

So, Zanetti is out as expected and Kovac, Tudor & Piccolo didn't come back...

Today, I read some words of DD I didn't like at all. He said: "We will try to win, but a draw would be fine as well, because it would leave us six points ahead of Napoli”...

I don't understand how he is satisfied with a draw before the match. As a coach, he should look for nothing but a well-deserved win...
