Yeah, I'm arrogant but doubt being Ignorant...After-all It was pretty obvious who was the Ignorant who couldn't argue and prove me wrong about Del Piero. tso tso, what a generation.

Joke?? hmmm, I didn't know your jokes contain lot of Del Piero Insults, sweet, so this is the way you joke? You call Del Piero names and you pretend to be joking?

I wonder how many Cheers you give a day. No doubt who's the licker here.
You should start seeing psychiatric, man, you´re reading and hearing stuff that nobody wrote and said.

Anyway, enough of pointless arguing while it is obvious you are wrong.

Manager: Emiliano MONDONICO

The town of Leffe is located within the northern province of Bergamo (Atalanta's home team) and in the region of Lombardy (that includes Milan and Brescia as well)

Albinoleffe play in the Atleti Azzurri d'Italia stadium, shared by their main city rivals Atalanta. Italy just played their 1-1 friendly with Turkey in this stadium on Wednesday.

Pictured below are are Albinoleffe fans and players celebrating promotion to Serie B in 2003.

Typically with small town clubs like Albinoleffe they live in the shadows of the greater city rivals such as Atalanta. The man trying to guide this team in right direction is a familiar face to Calcio fans - he is Emiliano Mondonico. Mondonico is from Cremona, which is also part of Lombardy.

He also played for Juve's city rivals Torino...so a win against Juve would always be something sacred for him. (I don't think he was part of Toro's successful 1976 roster)

Mondonico has been coaching for over 20(!) years now, and has had a decent list of promotions/demotions with different clubs.

His first success was with hometown club, Cremonese, promoting them to Serie A in his 3rd season with them in 1984. They got relegated the next season, however.

He then promoted Atalanta after a brief stint with Como, from his first season in 1988!! From then on he managed to finished above mid-table positions in the next two seasons with Atalanta, and Torino as well up until 1994 where he finished 8th with Toro.

He went back to Atalanta in Serie B this time for the 1994/95 season and promoted them AGAIN to Serie A from his first season, finishing 4th in B! That was probably Atalanta's golden era when he coached the likes of Vieri, Pippo Inzaghi, Montero, Mirkovic...of course we all knew the destination of those players and several other Atalanta youthfuls at the time. Relegation was inevitable and he finished 16th in Serie A, going on to Torino in Serie B this time. He promoted them from the first season, but couldn't survive the next season as the got relegated back to where they belong. (sorry, couldn't resist saying that)

He then spent some turbulent times, at clubs that were undergoing turbulence as well such as the financially struggling Napoli, Cosenza and the restructuring Fiorentina. He hadn't accomplished much with them, before finally joining our opponents this Saturday - AlbinoLeffe. He joined them in the middle of last season and finished 18th in Serie B.

Right, that's about their coach. Now you might wonder why are this club called "Albino - Leffe". If I understood correctly they are the fusion of two clubs called Polisportiva Alibinese/Albinese Calcio (1969/1995) and S.C. Leffe (1938). I won't discuss the history of both teams, as it's all about Serie C and D. This fairly young club was born in 1998 in Serie C2 and has been moving upward ever since.

They won promotion to C1 from their first season. Their first silverware came in 2002 by winning the Coppa Italia...for Serie C.

Their biggest success as mentioned earlier, was their promotion to Serie B in 2002/2003.

I think the picture do the talking about what this success means for the small club.

Albinoleffe's first team:

I don't recognise many players here, except for Duccio Innocenti #31 who used to play for Atalanta, and Bari...was an old defender that had a few good moments in Serie A.

I guess the players to watchout for in attack would be Marco Gori, the one in between the bald guys, standing. He has two goals this season.

The darker skinned chap, second from right in the front row with long hair, is their Brazilian forward Joelson. He's from the Atalanta youth academy. Still no goals this season.

Andrea Rabito is supposed to be their "star striker" he's on the far right, front row, long hair next to Joelson.

Albinoleffe's scorers in Serie B so far

2 Goals:

Marco Gori

Marco Cellini

Nicola Ferrari

1 Goal:

Luca Belingheri
(no pic available)

Davide Caremi

Roberto Bonazzi

This is Davide Caremi celebrating a goal vs. Brescia with the rest of the team...

This man will be the shot-stopper against Palladino and Bojinov. He spent the last season at Livorno warming the bench for Amelia. Paolo Acerbis stands at a towering 202cm!

P.S. - sorry about the quality of the last two pics...they're from a site where u have to pay to get the full size better quality img. Anyways......hope you learned more about Albinoleffe today.

Forza Juve. :)

Didier Deschamps looks to have done his homework as his team prepare for Saturday’s important championship clash away at Albinoleffe. “It won’t be simple. They come into the game on the back of three very good results and they’re unbeaten at home. They’ve also conceded just eight goals all season, although admittedly they have only scored nine at the other end. They have two strikers who get stuck in, they cover a lot of ground and they deny the opposition space. Tactically they are highly organised and apart from defending well, they also pose a real threat on the counter attack”. After giving his tactical analysis of the opposition, Deschamps shared his thoughts with the journalists on Juve’s game plan tomorrow. “As their mentality will be rather more defensive, we’ll go there looking to attack. There won’t be much space so it will be up to us to create it. It’s not going to be easy and we’ll have to be especially careful not to be caught short at the back on the counter”.

Albinoleffe are seen by many as one of this year’s surprises, but the Frenchman disagrees. “They are highly competitive. All of them run, and they run hard. It’s not by chance they’re doing so well, from watching their games you can see why they have 16 points already. The players are disciplined and even if the formation changes from time to time, their attitude always stays the same”.

With the Juventus squad hit by injuries, certain players will have their chance to shine. “If before we had a minor emergency in defence, we now have one up front; we have less alternatives in the attacking department but then there’s no use in trying to replace like for like. For example, it wouldn’t make much sense to hoist in long balls or crosses without David there as Albinoleffe have good height at the back. We need to make the most of the pace and movement of the players available”. Deschamps highlighted the importance of strength in depth. “As a club we made a conscious choice this summer to keep the best squad possible, and those players who haven’t seen much action so far now have an important chance to show what they can do. With international fixtures, injuries and suspensions it’s essential to have a strong squad. Quality on the bench is the key to any team’s success”.

The journalists wondered whether the eight point reduction of the sentence has eased pressure on the team. “When we were at -17 we couldn’t afford to make any mistakes. After the reduction and the points we’ve picked up we’re now on an even keel with the others, but there’s still the psychological risk of letting up against so-called 'lesser’ teams and if we do that we’ll experience difficulties, as you saw against Frosinone”.

And finally, a word on Buffon’s bid for the Ballon D’Or. “I believe Gigi deserves to win it after everything he’s achieved. If he doesn’t win it though, he shouldn’t be too disappointed. He knows as well as we do how well he’s played before, during and since the World Cup”.

I completely agree with DD, no more crosses and high-balls for this game, but we have good dribbling and movement in Bojinov and Palladino, Nedved and Camoransesi, so we should rely on them.

I think we will do good...

its great to see that DD had his scouts do their work and he did his homework by having a look at the previous game. This game could be a potential banana skin, but i have faith in our young forwards and they will come good.

We will see alot of cut inside from neddy and camo with alot of shots from outside the box.

Mybe we could see zebina in RB instead of biri as we need the pace in the backline, and although biri did well in the last two games we will need more pace in that position.
