King David all the way...we need a finisher, not a runner
We need a finisher on the side of a support striker. But if Ciro wants to maintain 4-2-3-1 formation without one, Amauri, who's a more physical player, can do better as a lone striker in my opinion. Trezeguet is accustomed to have a partner in attack who will absorb opponent's centre-backs attention and eventually create him direct chances to score. As soon as Del Piero is back, we can go back to 4-3-1-2 with Trez as a finisher being the best option at the moment.

the problem with Ama recently is that he's everywhere, except where we need him to be: the friggin' penalty area...and if a trident of Seba-Diego-Camo cannot provide a killer pass/direct chance to Trez, then we're fuckin' screwed anyway

I know but it's due to Ferrara's tactics I believe. In his 4-3-1-2 he compensates lack of wingers by letting both of Amauri and Iaquinta do the work there. In our new system there's no need for a striker to take wide positions, though.

I'm thinking hard about who I'd pick as our striker for this one, provided we will play with only one. It's kinda hard to pick as none are particularly on form.

I guess Ciro might go with Iaquinta?
I think he will go for Iaqi but if he plays Amauri i'd be :D
Its just that Gio-Diego-Amauri line-up seems to lucrative for me to resist

hmm, you got a point there...but still, I think Trez is 'playing' better thatn the other 2 if you know what I mean...he looks a lot sharper and closer to scoring a goal than the other 2

I can't say I disagree, even though Trez is our best poacher, I'd like to see some more Ama in this new formation. Those were basically the two I was thinking about, but at the same time fearing Ciro might have Iaq in mind.

Of course, Trez seems to be in the best form among our strikers nowadays. I only think this formation with a lone striker suits better Amauri, who's physical presence in the box can be expressed better now. While he's relieved form hard-working duties, we may see the good old Ama from the first half of the last season.

---------------Buffon

Zebina--Chiellini--Canna--Grosso

-----------Tiago--Sissoko

-------Camo--Diego--Giovinco

---------------Amauri

Melo should be rested so his injury isn't further aggravated. Tiago is fit to play and I would like to see how the 4-2-3-1 works with Sissoko and a player who can pass. If Zebina isn't fit than Grygera, Caceres is crap. I agree with Ravanevailli that Amauri is the better forward for this system

Damn, I had hoped Zebina would be able to get a few games in a row and regain his form, I hate to say it but Caceres has been very poor so far

Juve are not gonna get to play a lot in this match, Siena is really gonna stonewall us...we need the guy who will bury the ball in the back of the net even if there is half a chance...I just don't see that kind of killer instinct in Ama, especially in the past few weeks

Amauri or IQ.. We need someone who is not afraid of running with the ball to his feet... We did try Trez in CL!. Id say we try Amauri this time..

:sergio: yea, Amauri was on fire recently, wasn't he?
