Hamsik was brilliant, but my vote goes to Giovinco nonetheless so. The way he managed to singlehandedly terrorize and surprise every defence in Serie A in his first season is just brilliant.

I am surprised that many chose to vote for Hamsik rather than for Giovinco. May I ask for clarification? :) Take into account that Giovinco practically jumped from Juventus Primavera into Serie A and ripped apart many defences throughout the whole seaon. Pretty impressive if you ask me,. Hamsik was also brilliant but he had 2-3 years of professional football behind him and he also entered a solid Napoli side. Giovinco was absolutely stellar for his team and he wasn't surrounded by that many quality players.
Yeah, i can't say i disagree but i'd like to go with the overall performances only, without taking into account the other things.

Hamsik is more experienced perhaps but he's also younger than Giovinco.
Giovinco is more talented and i'd dare make a prediction that he'll make a bigger name in football than Hamsik (ballon d'or is my prediction). He also had a very good season but i must give the advantage to the Slovakian.

Like i said, if we take only the overall performances into account, Marek Hamsik was one of the best 5/6 players of this year's serie A, together with Del Piero, Cambiasso, Ibrahimovic, Mutu and Di Natale. Gio was great but he wasn't one of the best serie A players. We can blame Cagni and Empoli's below average squad for that, but it won't change anything regarding this poll's question.

I think Giovinco, because in a shit team like Empoli you can't really show your skill, like Pato did in Milan and Hamsik at Napoli

Easily and unquestionably Hamsik. He is has been one of the top 3 best midfielders in the whole league with Cambiasso and De Rossi. His second half of the season has been insane.

After Hamsik, its Giovinco, Pato and Lavezzi.

Hamsik's been a key player for Napoli, but I do reckon that rating him as one of serie a's best players is overstating the case a bit.

I've chosen hamsik though didn't know that so many people here chose him too , but for sure all of these names did great. After watching giovinco all season long (watched almost all of empoli's games this season), i'd say he's definately one of the best talents out there. I think if we played him next year in our team, he'll show he's true class.........

Hamsik easily tops that board, though i am not sure if he belongs in this poll, same goes for Sissoko... It doesnt seem fair for the rest...

Giovinco was brilliant, but we all knew that and he only performed those "miracles" in Empoli,

whilst Pato and Balotelli managed to outshine some world class players in their respective teams!

I disagree about Ibra being one of the best. Not just because i hate the fat douche but he had about two months of dominance and one game at the end of the season. the rest of the time he was crap. Half his goals were pks anyway. tbh I think inter's best player of the season has been Julio Cesar. Especially in the second half of the season he saved their bitch asses time after time again. He aside from the referees was inter's biggest help.
