That Buffon save at the end signified another shift in match sentiment. That was absolutely huge and we could take that momentum into the second half.
Roma has done a good job of pulling a flattering scoreline out of their asses, but that goal did come out of nowhere. We have more possession, have been winning the midfield battle except for that one little slip up, and have tried to take initiative in the match. What we need to see is better action on the flanks, which is why this position should have been addressed beforehand, because we are really weak there. If we had someone like Rafinha on the right, we'd multiply our attacking strength by two.
What should happen is that Del Piero comes on for Iaquinta so we can get a better handle of the ball. Roma is doing a decent job of shutting down our strikers, so we need someone who can take the ball and take on defenders to cause problems.
I don't think it's any surprise we lack good flank play considering our fullbacks and the lack of Camoranesi on the right. This needs to be addressed.
