Iaquinta is Reggina doubt Thursday 21 February, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vincenzo Iaquinta may join Gigi Buffon on the sidelines for Juventus’ trip to Reggio Calabria this weekend.

The former Udinese man has been suffering from back pain and went to see a physiotherapist during today’s training session at Vinovo.

Iaquinta will be given a final fitness test on Friday, but Claudio Ranieri is expected to name David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero in attack against Reggina.

Trezeguet has been suffering from the ‘flu’ and was excused from the majority of today’s activities, but the French international is expected to be available.

Azzurri goalkeeper Buffon is already a major doubt for the journey to Calabria due to a back problem of his own.

The first-choice custodian has reported a significant improvement in his condition, but he is likely to lend the gloves to Emanuele Belardi in order to ensure his fitness for next week’s Turin derby.

If Trez plays we need a lot of service played into him, otherwise he will be inactive for most the game. I would have rested him for Iaquinta this match though.

We will get advantage this week. Inter will lose points. If we had been more lucky against Sampdoria and If we had won against Cagliari in home, we had a good chance of reaching Inter. Pity.

We will play against Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio, Parma in home so we have a good chance. Forza Juventus.
