Not true. The whole teams gets critisizm when it's playing badly, if DP gets any more its because he played worse than the other players or was invisible, which is not all that uncommon.
Yesterday when I came here and criticized Trezeguet more than the other players because he was worse, someone told me not to bash Trez that much because everyone was shite.

Oh, come on Stuart, you know it's not that easy. Like Capello can just say "Give me Rosicky". You know thta Juventus has a budget to maintain, and he did the best with the funds he had. He got a defender, a midfielder and a striker. Players cost money su, and we all know how stingy moggi is.
I know he can't just ask for someone and get him, we're Juventus, not Chelsea or Real Madrid, but IMO Capello and Moggi could've done a bit better with the budget. Cannavaro, Emerson and Ibrahimovic were excellent acquisitions so no problems there, but instead of having four defensive midfielders in the squad, I would have sold Appiah (and Tacchinardi if necessary) as well as Legrottaglie and Iuliano. If a decent creative midfielder was still unaffordable following those sales (David Pizarro wouldn't have been that expensive) then we should have played 4-3-1-2 instead of 4-4-2 with Olivera on the left, Camoranesi on the right, Emerson in the holding midfield position, and Nedved in the trequartista role.

Here's what we played when we last won the Scudetto and got to the finals of the CL:

Buffon
Thuram Ferrara Montero Zambrotta
Camoranesi Tacchinardi Davids
Nedved
Trezeguet Del Piero

IMO this is an upgrade to that:

Buffon
Zebina Thuram Cannavaro Zambrotta
Camoranesi Emerson Olivera
Nedved
Ibrahimovic Del Piero

First of all, I usully come here after the matches, not during. And second, I'm glad for the team whoever scores, I dont care if it's del piero, trez or zlatan.

Still defending Capello for nothing...It's his fault Zlatan, Face it !

He did, but he bought what he tought was neccessary, you know we arent Chelsea.
He could easily have bought differently though, and this could have allowed for better football, a midfield with creativity, more chances created and a better team on the whole. We're good defensively, but the transition from midfield to attack just isn't there. We struggle to break down defences and this is going to be our downfall in Europe imo.

When we got to the CL Finals we played almost the same tactics, with 2 defensive midfelders, the only difference is that Nedved played behind the strikers instead of the left.

Fair enough, but the thing is, no-one said that Del Piero would have turned everything around, we just said that he should have played which he should have. To choose Zalayeta over him was nothing but a biased decision seeing as Marcelo spent most of his time on the left when he came on, a position were DP has proven himself before.

:howler:

You're so eager to point the finger at him, arent you? You say we hate Del Piero and that we're biased against hm, but it is you thats unbeliavably biased. I suppose it's cap's fault we lost the CL final as well.

He can request players, but in the end it's all down to Moggi.

I agree with you on this dp still is more useful than zalayeta

And it worked, didn't it? Nedved is much better behind the strikers than on the left and Capello's decision to play him there is another defensive one and has interestingly coincided with a decrease in quality in Pavel's performances.

exactly , when dp was playing and not performing , we wanted to bench him and this also in case of zlatan and trez

He could have bought differently, yes, but who would you have bought?

Cannavaro was almost free, Zlatan was 16 mil € and Emerson 14, and they are all, well, except Zlatan, world class players, and I didnt hear you complaining at the start of the season. We needed a substitute for Davids, and Emerson was it. We neded someone to replace Di Vaio and Mico, and Zlatan was it. We needed to strenghten our Defence and Canna did that. They did what the could, IMO we got the best players for the money we had. We got 2 world class players and a potential future superstar for 30 mil € combined. IMO thats pretty good.

That is true, yes, but Nedved still does make his runs into the middle and acts as a playmaker IMO; he just has more defensive duties on the left than in the middle, like before.

Don't get me wrong, I think we bought well, but we should've got someone creative as well as far as I'm concerned. David Pizarro and Mourad Meghni would've been relatively cheap options.

Anyways, given the players he has at his disposal I think Capello is still slightly at fault. If I had Camoranesi, Olivera, Kapo, Nedved and Del Piero in my squad the last thing I would do is feel obliged to play two defensive midfielders.
