Juventus Rocked In Tale Of Two Penalties
Napoli 3-1 Juventus
It was a tale of two penalties at San Paolo as Napoli came from behind to pick up a 3-1 win over Juventus.
After a goalless first half, Alessandro Del Piero set the ball rolling in the 46th minute.
David Trezeguet found Raffaele Palladino, who in turn volleyed in a superb cross for the Juventus skipper to turn into the net to make it a perfect start to the second half.
However, just three minutes later, Napoli had drawn level, sending the San Paolo faithful wild. Walter Gargano superbly dribbled past three Juventus players before firing a left-footed effort past Buffon.
The game had been set up perfectly, with both teams going for it.
The decisive moment of the game came on the hour mark, when Giorgio Chiellini tackled Ezequiel Lavezzi in the box, the referee pointing to the spot despite the defender seemingly having got the ball.
Up stepped Maurizio Domizzi to slot it past Buffon and give Napoli the lead.
Juventus tried to respond, but were struck by deja vu minutes later.
This time it was Zalayeta who went down under a challenge from Buffon, and the referee pointed to the spot again.
It was another soft penalty, but little did Napoli care as Domizzi stepped up and converted again to make it 3-1 with 20 minutes remaining on the clock.
Try as they did, the Bianconeri were unable to respond. Debate will go on for a while, but Napoli comfortably saw out the time to pick up one of their most significant results in years.
