Ancelotti selects ‘strongest’ Milan Wednesday 26 October, 2005

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has conceded that he will select the best team possible to face in-form Empoli this evening.
Although the Rossoneri entertain leaders Juventus on Saturday, their injury problems mean that the Coach hasn’t the luxury of resting key players ahead of the San Siro showdown.
"We need to make sure that Juventus don’t extend their lead over us before the match at the weekend," he stated. "Therefore I will pick my strongest side possible.
"We are up against a team who is doing very well right now and a striker in Francesco Tavano who is one of the most dangerous in the Division."
Ancelotti is set to be without Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta, Massimo Ambrosini and star striker Andriy Shevchenko.
"Christian Vieri and Alberto Gilardino will play in attack," added the tactician. "They are improving all of the time, let’s hope both can score."
The Ukrainian international is missing because of an ankle problem and Ancelotti admits he’s unsure whether he will be fit enough to face Juve.
"It will be tough for him but we can only really think about it on Thursday," explained the Coach.
"As for Nesta, he is feeling good again even if we won’t know whether he will be available until he has a few tests carried out on Wednesday."
Dario Simic is expected to come into the defence this evening, with Serginho or Marek Jankulovski being handed the left-back jersey.
Milan probable: Dida; Serginho, Simic, Costacurta, Cafu; Seedorf, Pirlo, Gattuso; Kaka; Vieri, Gilardino.

I know its a bit early, and we still have Sampdoria, but its interesting that Ancelotti is fielding the best available, and resting none for TODAY.
