I don't understand why we played a match in Dubai just 2 days before this game. Doesn't make any sense. The players did not look as sharp or fit as usual. Perhaps that was the reason. If it is, it was a stupid reason. No reason to have friendlies so close to the next game after a relatively short break.

Even if so, we seemed to have focused a bit on the friendly with Al-hilal too much. We should have just served that dubai trip as a social bonding trip instead.

Matri's goal was obviously not luck, it's what good strikers do. When Vucinic takes the shot Matri runs forward beyond the defenders and in that instance the goalkeeper palms it to a position where he's able to put his head onto it. That's good instinct to follow up every opportunity at goal in case the ball falls to you, instead of being rooted to the ground like a tree.

The best contrast to that was Amauri for a large period of time at this club, when he would refuse to be willing to make intelligent runs or move away from his chosen spot on the edge of the penalty area. No runs, no positional awareness.

Clearly for money, but yeah I agree shit timing. 2 days is not nearly enough time to recuperate before a Serie A game. I hope the lads get a decent rest this week.

The thing I dont like about Matri is when he has the opportunity to run one and one. In this game he had just that and I expected him to hit the ball as little harder and higher yet he hit it completely off target. Personally im not convinced with him. His great only when our midfiel is rocking but in my opinion a striker sometimes needs to make his own luck and take what he gets to help not only build his own confidence but those around him. Vucinic was effectively brilliant, but please tell him not to take corners, whenever he does get a rare chance to do so and they are way too predictable. As for Pirlo, this man needs to be on the bench for a good couple of games. Its not about the tiredness he needs to understand that no person should be guaranteed a spot. Also Conte shouldnt lag like my veetle streams when it comes to subtitution. These are some of the things if addressed by conte will help us win games in a more convincing manner and make the difference between 1 point and 3 points in the future

We need to sell some merchandise I suppose - nothing wrong with a training camp. Our players had two friendlies before this, that's not an excuse either as none of them played more than 90minutes TOTAL.

Pirlo didnt play in any of the matches and was still poor. The others played 45 minutes against side that is to compare with an Italian 4th division side. Shouldn't been that hard for them.

Goals will come from Matri (well, a goal did come today actually). You could immediately see how he gets into tons of chances with Mirko on the pitch. That first half pass by Mirko to Matri was class, but unfortunately Matri missed the 1 on 1 from the left side.

Now imagine with Quag, DP or Elia playing instead of Pepe.

Lecce played a disgusting dirty football. they came for our players ankle from the very begining. putting pressure is one thing, wanting to injure our players in every single challenge is another thing.
They got what they deserved at the end. we wasted every second of extra time and I enjoyed it. althought I would go crazy, had the time wasting happened in a normal match.


Apart from that, yet another example that our forward trident sucks big time when our midfield trio's having an off day besides occasionals Vuci moments.
Bonucci also had a fckin field day!

i agree we play short corner when against big team like milan, in case they launching very fast counter attack

but against minnow like lecce, i have no idea

Yes Im another hater of our fucked up short corners. I can understand a bit of variation every now and again, but FFS there is some instances when you just need to whip in a dangerous ball to one of our many tall players and just go direct.
