It's about time we got a match thread. Thank you. Just need to get 4th spot. Followed by Giuntoli leaving and WTH, get rid of the person(s) above him to get a complete fresh start.

I remember a similar situation a few years ago when Inda's CL qualification was on the line against Lazio and we were playing a CL final(or maybe it was the year after, I dont remember the exact season) and Inda won that game at Stadio Olimpico

I would've never thought years later, we would be in the exact same situation and this time, I dont think we're even gonna win this game with the eleven we're playing. We'd be lucky to get a draw here.

Its just crazy how the tables have turned.

I don't think that's right as Inter finished 8th and 7th the seasons we made CL finals, which might seem recent but were 8 and 10 years ago now, a lot can change in that time.

Chelsea won the CL 4 years ago and have fell off despite spending an absurd amount of money. Spurs made the final 6 years ago. Teams can fuck up quickly, ours was more of a staggered, self-inflicted wound.

I agree but 7-8 years ago, I saw JJ as Bayern of Italy with continued financial stability and success. Even if we fell off, I expected us to recover in a couple of years but the way we've fallen off now making less money than Inda and Milan is staggeringly catastrophic from the position of power we were in 7-8 years ago.
Maybe winning 9 titles in a row and lack of competition made us bullish and arrogant and really hurt us in the long run.

You’re right. It was the 17/18 season, the season of trashcan for a heart Michael Oliver.

Inter were playing Lazio, it was the final match of the season and essentially a playoff for the final CL place and it was a game decided by a mistake from him De Vrij (who had signed with inter on a free in January but was playing for Lazio)

It was the first time inter qualified for the CL in 6 years. Thats why I laugh when people say our “banter era” is as bad as Milan’s or Inters of that era. We at least still (mostly) qualify for the CL at the moment even if we are complete shit.
