[SERIE A] Lazio 1 -1 JUVENTUS (1/18/09) (2 Viewers)

we started slowly but lazio really came out of the block all guns blazing. People are saying we should dominate the midfield because we have four players in there compared to lazio's three are talking shit.
Zarate pinned mellberg back and pandev did the same to molinaro, while Rocchi occupied both legro and ariaudo. All 3 forwards worked tirelessly showed for the ball, ran the channels and harrased the juve defense when they were in possesion.
With both juve full backs pinned back lazio fullbacks Lichensteiner and Radu pushed forward to pick up marco and pavel.
Diakhite had Amauri in his pocket for 70 minutes and rozenhal looked after DP.
Lazio we able to impose their gameplan on us early and this then allowed Dabo Ledesma and Megni a 3 v 2 in the centre of the field againts momo and zanetti.
People on here blaming momo poor first half and zanetti's lack of match fitness while both statements are through the reason for this is that DP Amauri and Marchionni did not work hard enough when lazio had possession. While it is true to say our strikers got no supply that is no excuse for a poor workrate and been passengers for the first 45 minutes.
Amauri never hassled defenders or made runs down the channels in between the lazio centre halves and advanced fullbacks and most frustrating of all he stood and watched Diakhite head ball after ball clear unchallenged. DP also dropped too deep and far away from amauri held possesion to long and allowed lazio build attacks from the back. ledesma and dabo were very impressive for the first 60 minutes.
nedved and marchionni also held onto the ball to long and marco is very bad decision maker he always takes the wrong option.
Lazio could not keep up their frantic pace for the whole match and tired so Rossi had to make changes though perhaps he took zarate off too early. Ariaudo man marked Rocchi allowing legro to push on and pick up a lot of breaking ball and burst forward to start attacks.
I honestly believe if Ranieri had played 3 centre midfield say momo zanetti and marchiso juve would have stiffled lazio controlling hold on the game and if he the deployed amauri with Dp and any of Giovinco,Pavel or marco playing off amauri and match lazio's tactics juve would have won.
saying that taking the match on its merits a draw was not a bad result if only legros shot had gone in.
Rant over i believe the match to be more a case of lazio performing to the best of their ability and stopping juve playing than juve underperforming or freezing.
i just wish CR would trust giovinco more not just for his creativity but for his speed this juve team is lacking speed.
also one last point nedved can easily play on the right and play it simple a bit like beckham no pace but good football brain passing and crossing and giovinco on the left.
anyway roll on next sunday and the viola, and cassano with a point to prove to the sampdoria ultras!!
