A confidence boost against a very feeble opponent...players like Tiago, Criscito, and Legro needed a game like this, where they could play their game without fear.

Reggina never really put us under any pressure, and our guys did a good job of thwarting any of their few attacks.

We should have been up 1-0 before the end of the first half, but the linesman made a terrible offsides call on Trez's goal...are these guys supposed to be professionals, or do they pick these guys up at various pizza parlours before the games ?? It was so obviously on-sides that the jerk-off should be fined or suspended. We had other chances to score in the first half, but the Reggina 'keeper was up to the task.

It was in the second half that we really pushed forward, and made the most of our attacks. Legro and Brazzo put us on the board, and Trez was finally rewarded for his persistence...and Palla finished off the scoring with a perfect finish.

Like I said, it was a weak team we played against, but the victory does feel damn good !!:weee:

Ratings-

Buffon 6: Was there even a shot against him ??

Birindelli 6: No mistakes, and played a decent game

Legrottaglie 7: Tested once or twice without any problems, and even scored a goal !! After he scored the goal, was anyone else concened that he would be injured during the celebration, when his teammates jumped on him ?? :)

Criscito 7: A definite confidence boost...his positioning was good, along with his passes and decisions

Molinaro 6.5: He did well defensively, was ok coming forward too

Nocerino 6.5: Again, almost perfect when in the middle of the field...does ok on the outside, until he decides to cross the ball

Zanetti 7: Always a rock in the midfield....our most consistent player

Salihamidzic 6.5: Lots of pace, helped out the attack...needs to get to 100% fitness

Tiago 7: His passes were good, he showed some pace...lets see if he can play with consistency

Palladino 8: He was everywhere in the attacking zone, with a blistering pace about him...definitely rewarded with a goal

Trezeguet 8: My MOM....he was screwed out of a goal in the first half, but he got it back in the second half. He was more active than I've seen in a while, you always knew he was on the field, unlike sometimes when he disappears. He and Palla made a good partnership

Olivera 5.5: Showed why in the 15 or so minutes in the game that he isnt a starter. Selfishly took a shot from 30 yards out that went into the upper deck of the stands, rather than making a pass.

Ranieri 6: His lineup and formation worked today, but will we ever see consistency with this team if you change everything for every game ??

Hey, Vinman. I liked your report a lot and you were spot on on the player descriptions as well as Ranieri's. However, I have a serious question to a point you raised. You questioned the consistency of the team if Ranieri is going to do changes every game.

I agree with the fact that a team works well with a certain formation but don't you think that Serie A in general needs the element of surprise that Ranieri is providing in every game? Then another thing, don't you think that our injury list is sort of forcing him to try out to find solutions?

Personally, I think that when we get Camoranesi back, we'll go to the usual 4-4-2.

one thing i would like to point out and i really liked is that we are not crying about refereeing decisions like other teams are doing. We had two major decisions go against us in the past two games but not even a whisper from the camp.

its good cause we are focused and not letting distractions/excuses come in the way.

I agree with that very much. We are on the pitch to play football and we are doing that with class.

Ranieri has shown in the past his tendencies to switch players in and out of the starting lineup on a pretty consistant basis, hence his nickname "the tinkerman"

I think that even if we were injury-free, Ranieri would be switching around tactics and formations, trying to out-smart the opponent....but that is a double-edged sword.

You rarely see most other top Serie A teams use this same tactic, as you can't build a good chemistry between players if they are not playing together enough, but I disagree with the other end of the spectrum ala Capello, who always played the same guys, regardless of form or condition

I know exactly what you mean, it is like Capello and Ranieri are the two extremes; however I have a feeling that his approach is revolutionary in Serie A. There are no managers who do that. It might not serve well to do it so often but doing that from time to time is fruitful in my opinion.

I can't wait to read Dominic's review. I'm sure he'll say something like; "overall I wasn't too impressed with Tiago. He made some good passes here and there but his positioning was lacking and he offered little work rate in the defensive department. Oh and his hair is simply not as nice and straight as Camo's." :D
 I hate you guys!

As punishment you don't get my review! Hah!

No no.. You are not getting it we are cheaters we bribe refs. Thats why they offered us a penalty against Udinese (NOT), disallowed totti's first goal for offside (NOT) and lately allowed a goal for Trezeguet against Reggina (NOT). :faq1:

Three games in a raw.. Then the media starts talking bull about Chiellini playing the throw in during the Roma game too further in the field ALTHOUGH the throw in was changed due to roma player not playing it from the proper position which was where Chiellini played it and in addition the ref himself asked chiellini to play it from there.

But yeh, we are cheaters... If thats what will make them sleep at night after a defeat then let it be.
