massive game indeed, with all the shit thats been this february lets hope we can take a big positive out of by adding this win to the roma win.

Just like we are in a bad shape i think the viola are as well. They have pazzini out if am not mistaken but thats not their major issue as their midfield is not functioning up to par. A couple of days back Papa Waigo had to step up to give them the edge over livorno. Montolivo is not playing well, same goes for donadel and liverani.

Now given the importance of the game now and historically, all that goes out of the window for both teams imo.

I hope Ranieri puts out a positive but still gives himself some options that he will use on the bench. Last week thats what killed us, as we put out everyone we had and they were already drained and couldn't deliver. I expect to see Tiago playing some part in the as it won't all go our way.

Sissoko needs to step up and the same goes palladino and Stendardo. The first two didn't have the best of games last time around.

Doesn't matter. When he plays, usually his 45 minutes are terrible. He doesn't show any good signs.
If you give him 45 mins on a regular basis for some time and he fails, then you are right...
What I can't get, is how Ranieri was willing to give Almiron a chance after the other, while with Tiaogo, it was completely the opposite!!!

So Ranieri is going to start Tiago after not using him in about 50 days due to the fact he finally realizes Nocerino sucks.

What brilliant team management that is.
the juve management confuses me so much ranieri's tactics our transfer stratagy :wallbang: our club is truly run by madmen
And you know what will happen? Tiago will be rusty, low in confidence, not match fit and play a horrible game. Ranieri will feel vindicated about not playing him previously 'Me Claudio, me really clever'
exactly, sometimes, ranieri jsut stuns me. if he didnt want tiago who did then?

Last time Tiago played was 3rd of February - this month (for people who's not using calendar), and it was against Cagliari -67min. in that game we draw 1:1 at home. (he was terrible)
before that he was also in starting line up against Catania and he played 1st half . That game we also draw.

So its not 50 days but just half of that - so 25 days today..
Still its a 3 weeks without a play, but after his january comments saying that he has to quit Juve, i would not let him to be even on bench.

What do you expect from a player who is seeing all others given many chances to prove themselves, but not himself?!!!

Juventus - Fiorentina
LIVE ON FIVE
Stadio Olimpico

Old rivalries are renewed in Turin at the weekend as Juventus face Fiorentina in a game which could help to decide who ends up in next season’s Champions League.

Although both sides are currently occupying third and fourth in the table, the pair are aware that a sluggish end to the campaign could allow Milan – who have been in decent form during 2008 – to steal one of their places.

Points won’t be the only thing at stake at the Olimpico, though, seeing as the Bianconeri and the Viola are great adversaries. Relations have been strained since the Old Lady pipped the Tuscans to the 1982 title and things became even more heated after Viola idol Roberto Baggio was sold to Juve in 1990.

The home side will go into the game in the knowledge that a victory will see them stretch their lead over Cesare Prandelli’s side to seven points – a massive advantage at this stage of term. Yet it might be a tough ask given that they’ve lost to Reggina and only drew 0-0 with Torino in their last two games. Fiorentina have also only been beaten twice away all season.

Complicating matters even further is the fact that Claudio Ranieri is going to have to revolutionise his side. Suspension will rob him of three key men – Cristiano Zanetti, Pavel Nedved and Giorgio Chiellini. As a result, Raffaele Palladino and Antonio Nocerino will start in midfield, while January signing Guglielmo Stendardo may be drafted into the defence. The good news is that David Trezeguet should be back after being knocked down by flu.

Prandelli, a former midfielder with La Fidanzata d’Italia, will have to do without two fundamental players. A knee injury to Adrian Mutu – sold by Juve to Fiorentina – will see him sidelined for another three weeks, while Franco Semioli is also in the treatment room. That should give Christian Vieri an opportunity to start.

However, Bobo may be in for an uncomfortable afternoon versus one of his many former clubs. He’ll be up against a defence which has the best home record in the League. In 13 games, Juve have conceded just four goals.

Form wise, Fiorentina got back to winning ways after their loss at Roma thanks to a 1-0 triumph over Livorno in midweek. However, they have picked up just seven points from the last 15 on offer. Juventus, during the same period, have added eights points to their season’s tally. It looks like it could be a tight affair.

Keep an eye on: Zdravko Kuzmanovic (Fiorentina) – One of Fiorentina’s most in-form players, the young midfielder was the star of the show against Livorno in the Tuscan derby.

Last season: Not played

Form guide: Juventus (D W W L D) Fiorentina (L D W L W)

Juventus (probable): Buffon; Zebina, Legrottaglie, Stendardo, Molinaro; Camoranesi, Sissoko, Nocerino, Palladino; Trezeguet, Del Piero

Fiorentina (probable): Frey; Ujfalusi, Dainelli, Gamberini, Gobbi; Kuzmanovic, Liverani, Montolivo; Pazzini, Vieri, Santana

mate, he had lots of chances, we all cheered so much for him , always..
Last few games he was running away from ball, and when he had it he would try to make short pass straight away.
We always say that players should prove their worth on the pitch not somewhere else..

I am not saying he played good, on the contrary I was upset by his performance so far...
But, if you compare the chances he's been given with those of Almiron, you can get my point.

As CR never wanted those 2 players why he should play them especially if not good or dont fit this league well.. Same as with Sheva at Chelsea and Jose.

But look at Sissoko, 2-3 games, and he is almost there..

I complain about the midfield creativity when we play Zanetti and Noce/Sissoko in the centre but the prospect of Noce and Sissoko together in the midfield is just down right depressing. Zanetti can at least look at a person, lift his leg with his boot aiming the intended recepient and execute. Nothing fancy, but the job is done. These 2 guys....well, its like they wear the right boot on left leg and vice - fuking - versa

We might just see Camo in the middle again 4 this one coz I'm sure Tiago aint gonna be anywhere near being played. If so, i'd rather have Sali at the right than Noce

Donadel ready for Juve battle

Fiorentina midfielder Marco Donadel believes a hard-fought win over Livorno has prepared the Viola for Sunday’s grudge match against Juventus.

Cesare Prandelli’s men secured Tuscan bragging rights thanks to a Papa Waigo goal, but they struggled to a 1-0 win in a tense derby.

The pressure of Wednesday’s game pales in comparison to the upcoming test in Turin, which sees two of Italy’s fiercest rivals renew hostilities in what is also a battle for Champions League qualification.

“It’s a game that means a lot to us, as a team and the city as a whole,” Donadel explained.

“To win this battle has an extra significance, as it would give us a double advantage over our direct rivals.

“We need to be more clinical. We have always played well against the big sides but have come unstuck due to isolated incidents.”

Three points in mid-week allowed Fiorentina to overtake Milan after the Diavolo stumbled in Catania, but the fight for fourth place looks set to go to the wire.

“The Livorno game was a tough win because it was hard to find space, even though we controlled the play,” Donadel said.

“We were superior on the wings and had the better chances.

“It’s important that we are in the race when we arrive at the last four or five games of the season and then it’s all to play for.

“Juventus have more experience than us, but I don’t think either side are favourites. They have played fewer games, given our Cup commitments and so they could be fresher.

“We are expecting a run of tight games now, but we are in good physical condition and very focused on securing fourth place.”

I think all the odds are stacked against us, our suspensions, our recent form, the officiating situation. Fiorentina are relly gonna go for it against us and i'm seriously worried....

i think the odds are even for both sides.. If Ranieri can get his formation right and the players play to there strengths, which is the aim of the right formation, i think we will win.. I do however have little confidence that Ranieri will do this

Ref will be...drum roll........FARINA!

Prediction: Juve end up playing with 9 men with Camo and Momo expelled before the 2nd half.
