Buffon was good like always as well nothing he could have done about the goal
Buffon wasnt tested at all today,he saved only one shot & the rest were either shot wide & one shot hit the post.
It is true that u cant blame him for the goal, actually u cant blame anyone,Andrade & Criscito came forward so that Di Natale is offside though they shouldnt have left that much time for the guy who had the ball to do the throug pass,Nocerino saw the guy running from the left,he couldnt do anything but to run after him.

Actually it will sound strange but I liked Criscito a lot in the ball that Udinise scored from,he reflected very fast to Andrade's offside trap but one of them should have ran directly to the guy who had the ball instead of focusing on leaving Di Natale offside.
I think with time these 2 could give us a solid defence.

Thumbs Up for Udinise players for that Goal.

btw, anyone saw the huge poster in the Stadium for Alex? Somewhere next to the corner...it's really huge like 4 to 5meters.
it was FG5 (what was the russian mafia kid we have here?) holding the poster, that's why he kept asking about posters.

yes the DF definitely is cause for concern....and our board didn't take care of that glaring predicament in the off-season...will have to tough it out till January

I think that the defence looks good, Andrade and Criscito look to be forming a decent partnership and Chiellini has been excellant in evry game so far.

I think the main problem is the cover from midfield, you can see that teams just get to much space and can run straight at our defence.

When we are effectively playing 3 or 4 upfront (which is what happens when Nedved and Camo push up) we really need pace, energy and tough tackling in the midfield. Thats why i think Nocerino is needed in the middle.

When i think back to the Juve team of the mid 90's one of our greatest strengths was how quickly we closed the opposition down and gave them no space/time on the ball. We just give teams to much room

I actually thought I was going to come here and tell everyone how happy I was with our performance...how we are the most attacking and most exciting team in serie A so far this season......then in the 30th minute, Camo got injured :frown:

From the moment that Camo was replaced, we became a different team. Almiron no longer was effective, we lost pace, and we found out once again that Nocerino cant be a winger because he cant cross the damn ball !!

Once again, a total defensive breakdown led to Udinese's goal. Are we going to collapse like this once every game, or can we expect it to happen multiple times in games against strong teams like Roma, Milan, and Inter ??

RUINeri conceeded defeat in the 60th minute when he "sent in the clowns" named Iaquinta and Tiago. Not only did he take a real big risk by making all 3 substitutions by the 60th minute, but the icing on the cake was taking out the lethal Trez for the feeble Iaquinta...it wasnt going to work, and the scorline proves it

It was painful to watch Nocerino on the right side, and if that idiot RUINeri was smart he would have put Tiago on the wing, and move Nocerino back to his natural spot in the middle...whether anyone wants to admit it or not, Nocerino is more effective than Tiago in the center of the pitch...and lets not talk about all the money we wasted on an average player from Portugal, when we could have gotten the same from Italy for a lot less money

Again, there are too many teams better than Juve right now, and fourth place may have to wait for another season, with a new coach

Buffon 6: left hanging to dry by the defense on the goal...was decent otherwise

Birindelli 5.5: kept Di Natale quiet for the first half, but his lack of speed will always haunt us

Andrade 5.5: was ok when he wasnt pushing up so much, where was he when the goal was scored ??

Criscito 5.5: the defense collapsed on the goal and he wasnt around to help

Chiellini 6: our best defender of the day, but that isnt saying too much

Camoranesi 6.5: pace and skill-made everyone around him better players, his injury hurt everyone (including us :frown: )

Zanetti: 6: controlled the middle well, so tinkerman subbed him out :(

Almiron 4: worked well with Camo.. must have been subbed off with him :faq2:

Nedved 6: never stopped running, gave his all, and missed a great opportunity to put us on the board

Del Piero 6: another guy who gave his all, but all he could muster was 3 posts

Trezeguet 6: our biggest threat to score, but wasnt given the chance

Nocerino 5: TERRIBLE crosses...can I fault him for playing out of postion ??

Tiago 5: biggest waste of money in Serie A

Iaquinta 5: cannot fill Trez's shoes up top, did very little

RUINeri 4: awful substitutions, players playing out of position, hasnt figured out what to do with the problems in defense. Abromovich took over Chelsea with the sole intent of winning, and for that reason ALONE, he sacked RUINeri....

We will have to do the same

I dont see how a side can win matches with a midfield as [ponderous as the 1 put out there.

There was no skill or energy and definitely no pace.

Now time and time again some peole have been trying to convince me the that Almiron and Tiago are of the highest quality in that they can match Emerson and Vieria in any way.

Now admittedly I have only seen Almiron in patches a Empoli and he never stood out for me but I could not judge and Tiago at Chelsea was just average.

I did not see much of him at Lyon but apparently he had improved so much that I would recognise him. I have to admit I am yet to see the improvement, he still looks like the player i remember at Chelsea, it does nto matter whether he has been given timeor not.

Back to Almiron, exaclty what are his qualities? Long balls to find teammates? He cannot run, he cannot tackle and because he is no where as good as Zidane, kaka, Totti, Veron or Riquelme, he cannot be given benefit of doubt with his work rate.

From what I have seen he should be benched straight away as he serves absolutely no purpose. If you see a player chasing another playing that is running with the ball and cannot get anywhere near that player then whats the point?

Some say Camoranesi would have made a difference but we do not know that for sure, it is just said to make you feel better because this is not a world beater that outplayed us, it was Udinese.

The players would be up for the Roma game so that would make me know where this team is going.

This might have been just 1 of those games and i still have no idea why they decided to play Zaragoza in the midweek when they lack energy.

1 thing for sure, if this team were in Europe then I can guarantee that they would not finish in the top 6 as they cannot cope with 2 matches in a week.

We look comfortable when the play is slow but once teams pick up the pace we are in big trouble

Coping in the premiership would be impossible for this team.

I was watching sevilla against Recreativo and was thinking how they would have massacred the Juventus I saw this afternoon.

Dp, Nedved, Camoranesi, Trez, Zanetti, Almiron, Birindelli and Tiago are far too many players without pace

Only Camo, Chiellini, Iaquinta and Nocerino seem to have energy and that is very worrying for a whole season

I appreciate your match report and I enjoy reading them although they're always a bit harsh(e.g the Tiago part),but that's a point of view I like to hear too.

I wouldn't say that we were awful today. Sometimes we have plyed worse and won... we had no luck with the posts, and Udinese was brilliant in the second half. The way to rebuidning a team goes through days like these. Of course it was annoying to lose with a rather poor second half, but it's no tragedy.

I haven't seen the full match yet, but, IMO, it was clear to me that Di Natale was offsides for their goal anyway...
