I really had thought we will play with our first eleven,
like we always do,
i was convinced about that,
Cap leaves no choices,
on the other hand, i thought, he would have used the same scheme, we will use against Arsenal, at same part of the game to test it
and see, if it needs any last fine adjustments,
Roma is, in an excellent form, they have great problems on their fielding team because of the injuries/suspensions but they are very determinated and concentrated to their CL place goal, they play as a team no matter the starters,
they fight together and they can always find the answer against any oposition, no matter how many players are available,
the games between us gets too physical,
using the starters now isnt that wise because they will be exausted and the there is a high risk of accidentation, It seems that Capello valued those 3points high
and the man who takes no risks in the Serie A, risked our CL form (rumours say DP will recover)
we are conceeding too easy this year, i was sure we would concede this time too,
we were playing home, with our first eleven against an amputated sworn enemy,
these 3 points for them were extremely important but we rarely loose home to them.
The one-one draw, was, IMO, the most propable result,
the game prooved me right,
we were lucky to take that lead,
we indeed had the control of the midfield but we didnt know what to do when we got close to their field, Roma had a plan
and they never hesitated, the goal was a big blow to their morality,
we had the change to play are known slowed pace game and make them fall asleep taking the win again effortesly,
but Nedved had a different opinion,he got frustrated, (although everything was going perfectly well for us), violent and left the field for good even before the first half.
This gave a new life to Roma's hopes and they lept fighting and desperately throwing any available weapon.
As long as we had the lead Cap wouldnt risk to loose it,
finally their goal came in a similar way ours came,
Buffon and the defenders couldnt stop them to score.

Buffon -> 6.0
he did many spectacular saves, Chimenti wouldnt dream of making but the slipped from his hands too many times,
even Abbiati under heavy rain didnt slipped that much,gg overall

Thuram,Canna -> 6.5
Did their job, they were decent, they slipped the least and the ha the most difficult job, corecting other ppls mistakes

Chiellini -> 6.0
kid gots a caracter, he had a decent game, a few bright moments but nothing spectacular, but he had the right "aproach" for this kind of games

Balzaretti -> 5.5
he isnt himself late, his crosses were unfocused but he had a good play def wise

Zambrotta -> 5.5 he had his good moments but also some bad ones (esp with Taddei)

Camoranezi -> 6.6
he would hava been my MOM if Emo didnt scored, he was a fighter, did many good runs, served our attackers and Neddy in places and moments they sould have scored,he fought till the end

Vieira -> 6.4
gg, he is improoving lately, he won many balls for us and at the beginning of the game had a great contribution,made Emo relax

Emerson -> 6.7
Il Puma finally had a partner worthy of his caliber,
he started slowly but steady his was improoving his game by the minute,
he lost a few ball but he got them all back, made some clinical interventions to help our defence and supported our ofence as he could,
hard thing without having a game plan (and if we had any, it was to use our wings) Emo adjusted his performance for this game, he was always there when needed and after Nedved left he and Camo did all the battles,MOM

Nedved -> 4.9
He had an ok game (apart from the card), he was in a good day, he had many chances to score, but for some moments he losted it completely, he made some unnecesary/urgent fould he sould have avoided and got really sloppy, when the pressure raises Neddy is always there and keep fighting,
but today he couldnt handle the pressure, it was obvius he would take the second yellow, Cap sould have subbed him

DP N/A
he had some brilliant form period, i have reasons to believe he doesnt lately, i think Cap wasted his best on form period on the bench, i hope he recovers soon,would he be the reason Neddy got angry?

Zlatan -> 5.5
Todays game was taylored to his style of play,
he had tofight alone some esperate fight, but this is what he does best anyways,
the little time he had on the bench worked some results on him,
(he can now actually pass,still need some work on finishing, but he is closer),
so Cap, you know the drill, make him good again

Trezequet -> 5.0
we all know he cant react if he isnt served properly,
he got served a couple of times but he missed him chances,
i think if he was playing a full 90' and with 10 teammates he would have scored

Mutu -> N/A
the guy just touched the ball once

Capello
He did better than the last times but Spaletti owns him,
even with such a superior material he somehow managed to let Roma a chance and exaust our players, brake the morale nd possible loose DP for the Arsenal game, the typical 4-4-2 wasnt adjusted to the many Roma's weaknesses,
but lets sayhe wanted to taste it before using to Arsenal...I only blame him for the usual late reactions, he sould have subbed/yelled to Neddy after the first fould he did to worth the secon d yeloow and sould sub in Mutu earlier,
i dont blame him for the players morality,effectiveness and hunger
because he had the 10 point lead and an important CL game before him,
but if he fails later i will remember it and blame him twice,
we dont really know wich is his choice ( championchip or CL )
but we sould concentrate 100% in one of them...

I don't think DP will start against Arsenal, he'll come in the 60th minute, where he does it best :agree:

Hopefully a freekick goal to take back home!?!? :D

Jack, whats with the closing of the beauty of the day thread all about?

I would walk around in my office for a couple of hours with a pointy nose, chin up, and contemplate important team matters.
Then I would call Capello and ask him what to do.

do u need 11 good players or 22 average players
Barça uses 11 good players....which is not good. They are nothing without ronaldinho.

I prefer to have 22 average players...which include 11 goods :D

I just don't understand why Capello had to start with Del Piero when he already wasn't inform, why couldn't he just rest him and play one of Mutu or Zalayeta from the start...why to risk FFS???

Del Piero doubt for Highbury
Sunday 26 March, 2006
Alessandro Del Piero is a “major doubt” for Tuesday’s trip to Highbury after limping off with a thigh injury against Roma.

The Juventus star has barely trained all week due to a muscular problem and was surprisingly given a start against Roma at the Delle Alpi last night.

However, he pulled up with a left thigh injury and limped off after just 17 minutes of play, making way for David Trezeguet in the 1-1 draw.

“He had already struggled with a problem in that leg during the week and I have major doubts that he’ll be fit in time for Tuesday,” explained Coach Fabio Capello.

Juventus will take on Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final at Highbury on Tuesday evening.

However, the man himself is confident that it is not a thigh strain, as that diagnosis would rule him out for two to three weeks.

“I don’t think it’s anything particularly serious,” assured Del Piero. “It’s a shame, though, as I had already recovered from this kind of thing from last week. We’ll wait and see what the tests say.”

Amazing eh???

Capello is soo weird....when Del Piero is inform he's not getting a chance to play, when he's not, he's in the starting 11.....

I blame Capello for Del Piero's Injury.

very boring display with roma dominating big parts of the game , we could not win over roma even if they are missing key players , i dont know what to say , i am very disappointed , capello wanted to win with least effort as usual .
This Scudetto race is not over yet
