Dacourt sparks injury crisis
Wednesday 27 October, 2004
The Giallorossi might have to improvise their midfield tomorrow evening, as Oliver Dacourt and Daniele De Rossi have injuries.
The Frenchman limped off during today’s training session in Turin with an upper right thigh twinge and will undergo tests before the big game with Juventus.
Dacourt is considered to be a major doubt to start the match, but Daniele De Rossi has not even made the trip up north due after a recurring muscular problem flared up.
With only Simone Perrotta and Amantino Mancini left in midfield, Coach Gigi Del Neri could be forced to improvise with Marco Delvecchio and Traianos Dellas.
Meanwhile, Roma have officially lodged an appeal against UEFA’s decision to inflict a three-match ban on De Rossi.
The Italian international was sent off for kicking out at an opponent during their 3-1 Champions’ League defeat at Bayer Leverkusen. The appeal will be heard on November 19.
However, it’s unlikely the Giallorossi will attempt to have Christian Panucci’s two-man suspension for jumping with his elbow out reduced.

De Rossi and Dacourt are out, and so is Panucci. With the midfielders left, Roma would be happy to get a draw.
