I know it's time to focus on the match and not the Capello discussion but I'll post my post now anyway. Afterall I did spend a lot of time and effort on it.

You make a good argument :)

How do you explain Juve's early CL exits the past two years, though (especially this year)?

I think he over uses his "favorite" players in Serie A...which leads to them being fatigued for CL and, late in the season at least, for Serie A itself.

What do you think, amico mio?
Early and early… We reached the quarterfinals both times against Liverpool who turned out to win and Arsenal who are now in the final. I can’t really argue on the Liverpool exit since became a Juve fan only last September. The Arsenal game was one of the few matches where I was left disappointed with Capello so I won’t defend him in this match.

But yes, I was really disappointed that Arsenal knocked us out. Mostly at the players who underperformed in both matches but also about Capello’s substitutions. But we have to keep in mind that the two-legged defeat in the Champions League came during a period of bad form. Throughout the whole season Juventus completely smashed every opposition! And Capello deserves a lot of credit for that. But during a whole season every team in the world will inevitably enter a crisis. Small or big. It happened to Barcelona, Milan, Chelsea and to us.

All we can do is put the CL defeats in the last couple of years behind us and try our very best to win the title with the big ears again as soon as possible.

We can easily agree that Capello uses the same 11 players throughout the whole season. And yes it may cause a little bit fatique but when you look at how many points we gathered together (at some point 12 points ahead of Milan) it is definitely worth it.

Juventus have been number 1 in Serie A every single week since Capello took over so there is nothing in the statistics to suggest that Juventus have been tired.

However I must agree that in a selection of very few matches this season the team could have been rotated some more. But then again Capello watches his players’ form every day in training, we don’t…

I would disagree on the notion that our crisis this season was due to fatique. The players ran their asses off throughout all the matches this season, they simply hit a period of bad form. Thankfully it is now over and we should be ready to win Lo Scudetto.

Its a good thing to base upon a system and let your players adapt to it,
i agree that it helps to the teams stability in every field to have a basic plan and some certain roles
BUT

-you have to adjust your system to the players skills from the very beginning,
the way Cap uses Zlatan,Nedved,RBs,Mutu,Zambro isnt the right one,
the players cannot perform 100% of their abilities and i dont have the impression that they are improoving,
do you?

-a few teams/matches in the year need different tactics for maximum efficiency,
you cant play physical game with long balls against English,Germans teams and Lazio,
Cap repeats it and looses all the time, everybody can see it but him,
he has to pick a main scheme but he has to have one back up plan at least

-His subsitutions are horrible, they came too late and very rarely offer anything,
most of the times the team looses strenght after them...
In my opinion the only player who has been fielded out of position is Mutu.

Capello’s substitutions have with the exception of 3-5 games this season been absolutely world class. Sometimes when he makes a substitution that I don’t understand I’m left with the impression after the match that he saw something no one else on the globe did. That’s just one opinion. I think Capello is one of the best tacticians if not the best in the game.

I disagree that we only played long balls in the matches you mention. We played a combination of long balls and small passes. I would however agree that it is smart to have a backup plan. Maybe if we did we wouldn’t have been eliminated from the CL. But again I must point out that Capello deliberately tries to make the player’s comfortable with one tactic in order to make it simple for his players. And this very tactic led us to perfect results in Serie A. So Capello’s socalled ‘stubborness’ which is in fact a genious tactic maybe didn’t win the CL so far but it won Lo Scudetto once and maybe in the space of days two Scudetti.

Capello won the CL with Milan so I can’t see why he shouldn’t have a chance of doing the same for us.

i agree with u tifoso, i have another question alexander, ( dont take this against u mate this goes out to any one who likes capello, i appreciate u being open to debate alexander) u say 4-4-2 is used alot to make the players used to it, ok i will let u off on this but again as tifoso said this excessive use was another reason behind us getting eliminated from the cl this year. again the lack of rotation shown by capello is the first reason behind the current form juventus is in particually after the winter break this is bec the same 11 he uses are exhausted and this is the difference between us and say milan where they start slowly and heat up towards the end this is bec they have rotation. ok u might answer me and say he has no choices on the bench i agree with that to be honest the subs juventus have are not as strong as we thought but again its his fault remember he asked for those players, another reason is he does not give a chance to he players he has, example blazartie, chelini, mutu, and oivera he gave them a chance when things got terrible for him and there fore he gives them there chance when all the stress is on like now.

i agree with u alexander that capello is a coach who has already proven himself with other clubs but not yet 100% with juventus i mean it is no secret juventus were strongly linked with at least reaching the final and even wining this champions lleague but due to the exhaustation we suffer from we cant. i think another reson and this is my personal opinion we have veterns we dont have any young talanted players i mean look at our midfeild viera and emerson both are defensive midfielder why cant we have one defnesive midfielder and one attacking midfielder it will open up our style of play making it agresive with more balls reaching the forward and it will also help control the midfield sth we didnt see against aresnal we lost to there young, and fast midfielders. the transfers again are capello's choices after all right?
any way i think u now know why we are against him and i respect yr opinion alexander i understand yr piont clearly and this is the answer to it. i think capello is a great coach when it comes to seria A but when it comes to knock out stages specially in the cl we r poor again its bec we lack squad rotation and the presence of creativity in the formation and tactics used and implemented by capello. i respect the fact that juventus is the only team in europe that has lost one game in there run in a domestic title race but thats not everything and is never a measure of how strong or weak a coach or a team is.
The CL exit came because of various factors. One was the absence of Ale, and we all know there is a good chance that had he played vs. Arsenal we could’ve easily gone through to the semifinals. Then like I said in response to Tifoso Lou Capello made some bad substitutions but I completely take distance from the opinion that our player’s were tired and this was the sole reason we were eliminated. I’d say we were probably equally tired at this stage of the season as all the other teams were.

I agree that Capello needs to win the CL to fully prove himself at Juventus but he did very well already: He managed to keep his perfect record of winning big titles with every team he coached.

I agree on the notion that if we played like Milan (4-3-1-2) or a diamond 4-4-2 like the one we used to play with Dechamps and Zidane back in the 90’s we would be stronger offencevely. But that requires a world class playmaker like Zidane used to be. Or the big playmakers we have today like Ronaldinho, Kaka, Totti, etc.

But the fact is that unfortunately we just don’t have such a player. Maybe Capello asked for one but Moggi and co. were simply unable to find a ‘great’ player. So Capello has to do with the players he afterall has and make the best formation out of that. And with the current squad we have that lineup is a 4-4-2 with the exception of a few matches where a more offensive lineup is needed.

we lead by only 3 points, and if we loose, then its officialy f-cked up and milan wins the titel if in the end of the season both have same amount of points.

But if milan only draw or loose and we win, the titel is ours.

so basicly if you want juve to win this scudetto, forza parma and roma!

And forza Juventus!! Afterall we are still masters of our own destiny. All we need is a victory and a draw in our last two matches and Milan are fucked.

Uhh, what now? If we win one and draw one, Milan can win both their games, and we will still be the champs with a one point margin. So in what way are we depending on Parma and Roma? :shifty:

it took a lot of time when we finaly got back to winning ways, i trust parma and roma more to make as a favor than capello to win again:p
