The thing is though, a coach is supposed to rule the team, as his job is to do whatever possible to make the team successful. If that comes at the expense of Del Piero, so be it. Again the Club is bigger than the player.

But you have to ask yourself whether it's wise to dispose us of Del Piero as we're doing right now.

In the games he's played, full or partial, and with his current form, he hasn't proven himself worthy of a first team starter. Recognition of his poor form have been echoed in statements by everyone from Lippi at the NT to practically every sports journalist in Italy.

What's left to ask?

IMO, he's gotten a lot better treatment than any other Juve player would have had given his current form.

IMO, he's gotten a lot better treatment than any other Juve player would have had given his current form.

His form hasn't been that bad. At one point in the season he was outplaying Zlatan and even though his playing time has been limited he is still our topscorer. However, I agree, he shouldn't be starting ahead of Trezeguet or Ibrahimovic right now.

Exactly. He's earned that right. He's DP, afterall!

But really -- there's a time where the captain on your team also needs to recognize that his role in how he can best support the team may not necessarily include actions on the pitch, but rather actions and words off of it when necessary.

But player form can change. Take Inter. Look at Adriano's play up until his recent injury compared to earlier in the season. And since then, look at how Vieri has come on from the bench in a number of games with game-tying goals. For everyone's sake, I hope we haven't heard the last of DP. In fact, I know we haven't. It's just that he's at a stage where he can probably best help the team right now as a situational player until his form improves again.

Zidane is a true footballing legend. His technique, vision and ability to make things look so damn easy are masterful. On the ball he's as comfortable as they get and even approaching the end of his career he's still a joy to watch. He has won it all, with both club and country, but, Del Piero has been better at Juve. 5 Scudetti, a CL, the Intercontinental Cup, 166 goals. You can't argue with that. Zizou is a genius, but DP has been better for us.

In my opinion, Zidane was the better player at Juventus. He might not have won as much as Del Piero, obviously, but he was the more skillful player between the two. Now, the better servant to Juventus has been Del Piero, as he has been at the Club much longer and has contributed more to our success. You must recognize the difference between the two.

Thanks to a goal by Trezeguet and Domizzi’s own-goal, Capello’s side beats Brescia 2-0 and strengthens their lead of the table, which now sees Milan 5 points down after their defeat in Livorno.

Bianconeri in attack from the very first minute when Trezeguet, face to face with Castellazzi, nearly scores with a shot slightly wide of the post.
