4-1 without getting out second gear. We still look shaky though and once again switched off after taking the lead, which is happening too often.

Higuain looked sharp and nice cameo from Marchisio.

Glad to see VAR working properly. Pretty funny that it took 2mins to make a call on SPAL's disallowed goal which was miles off and a very easy decision but 2 second to rule out Higuain's. It's as though they were looking for any reason possible to award it.

Maybe a handball from Costa

what?

Perfect batch of league games to get our confidence up.

Udinese, SPAL and a Milan in free fall.

Watch us lose here though
We won't. SPAL are utter shit. will be easy win

Perfect opportunity to rotate anyone who might not be 100% and still build confidence
What club did we lose to early last year when the game should have been a walk in the park?

4 - 1

Borriello to score 1 against us after poor start and shameful defending. Team to wake up, rally, and score 4 or 5 against a vastly inferior side.

As usual, results on the pitch will prove me right
So far today they aren’t.

Higuain may not have gotten the hattrick I predicted but he did score two (one incorrectly ruled out) right?

allegri: if we play like that, we'll taste defeat at the san siro.
In terms of attitude for sure, Milan are home and will be aggresive, Juventus need to bring back that intensity/hunger whyle staying focused the entire 90+ minutes by quiting this switching OFF habbit they have atm.

Entertaining game tho

Didn't watch the match but looks like Costa gets their MOM nod and combo of him and Berna worked well ..... I know not much competition but thinking positively.

Player ratings: Juventus By Football Italia staff

Wojciech Szczesny - 6

Rarely troubled, he was let down by those in front him as Juventus conceded yet another cheap goal. He will hope these defensive errors are eliminated for his future appearances.

Stephan Lichtsteiner - 4.5

Too concerned with wrestling in his own box to deal with the danger - i.e the ball. His failure to recognise this danger allowed SPAL striker Alberto Paloschi to pull a goal back. Wasteful in possession on too many occasions, on another poor night for the Swiss right-back.

Daniele Rugani - 6

Aside from an over-eagerness to win the ball on a couple of occasions, Rugani defended well. Intelligent with his positioning he was able to clear danger on a few occasions. In possession he completed a high percentage of his passes, helping his team retain possession.

Andrea Barzagli - 6

Most important defensive action of the night, a fantastic block around the 50 minute mark prevented an almost certain goal as Paloschi looked to level the score. Has been reliable for Juventus on so many occasions over the years.

Alex Sandro - 6.5

The Brazilian left-back looked more like his old self after what’s been a poor start to the season. Worked well down the left with fellow Brazilian Douglas Costa.

Rodrigo Bentancur - 5

In his short time at Juventus the Uruguyan player has set a high standard, and there is now expectation whenever he steps onto the pitch. Tonight he was loose with possession, and his decision making and use of the ball was below par. Nights like this from young players are to be expected and accepted.

Sami Khedira - 6

Never likely to repeat his weekend heroics, it was a much more subdued performance from the German international before his removal early in the second half.

Douglas Costa - 7

The summer signing is starting to show signs of what he is capable of. With two assists tonight Costa showed the variety his game has. Key passes, crosses and, as always, a willingness to attack the opposition.

Paulo Dybala - 6.5

A superbly executed first-half free-kick see him take his Serie A goal tally for the season to 11. The Juventus number 10 found lots of space to pick up possession, and it almost appeared easy for him at times.

Federico Bernardeschi - 6

On his second start for his new club, Berna again made an instant impact as he grabbed his second Juventus goal. A stunning first-half volley was just another example of the potential he has. Withdrawn after 55 minutes, Juventus fans will want to see more of their dynamic young winger.

Gonzalo Higuain - 6.5

The Juventus frontman put in another tireless display tonight and more than deserved his goal after recent performances. There is a new found freshness and intensity to his game, and these will be pleasing signs after an indifferent start to the season for Pipita.

Substitutes

Juan Cuadrado - 6

A danger when introduced in the second half, the Colombian winger got himself on the score sheet when heading home a Douglas Costa cross.

Miralem Pjanic - 6

A calming influence on the game and helped to settle Juve, his corner lead to the third goal.

Claudio Marchisio - 6

The return of Il Principino will be as welcome as the three points to Juve fans tonight, given a great reception from the home crowd, who will hope he can stay injury free for the rest of the season.

Or we can go by JuveFC's ...... MOM, take your pick of Berna, Costa or Higgy? Nice job by the poll starter's choices!

Bob Szczesny: Untroubled for 85 minutes and caught off guard for the SPAL goal – Not helped by his defenders, Lichtsteiner in particular. Made some easy claims late on. 6.0/10

Stephan Lichtsteiner: Another poor showing – Despite his industry in getting forward and supporting the attack, he was bullied for the SPAL goal and should have done better. 5.0/10

Andrea Barzagli: A good display next to Rugani at the back. Solid but not spectacular, like much of the Juve backline at present. 6.0/10

Daniele Rugani: Not at his best in the first half – Played a part in the SPAL goal and was needlessly booked early in the match. Improved as the game went on and was untroubled for much of the second half. 5.5/10

Alex Sandro: Good linkup and overlapping runs with Douglas Costa – These two seem to have a good understanding and work well together, but Sandro still has a way to go before he returns to last seasons form. 5.5/10

Rodrigo Benatcur: Looked flustered early on, passing backwards and sideways and giving the ball away on occasion. Poor passing continued into the second half and he was readily and rightly subbed off. 5.0/10

Sami Khedira: Some good runs into the box and supported the attack well but didn’t impose himself as he did at the weekend against Udinese. 5.5/10

Federico Bernardeschi: A great start – Looked lively from the first minute before scoring a brilliant individual goal with great invention and a sublime finish. Would have liked to see more of him but Allegri opted to sub him off with most of the second half to play. 7.0/10

Paulo Dybala: Better than the last match, being more decisive behind Higuain and playing some great balls to his teammates. Took his free kicj with deadly precision. 6.5/10

Douglas Costa: A real live-wire, cutting in and out from the left and playing a smart assist for Bernardeschi’s opener before setting up Cuadrado late on for Juve’s 4th and final goal. A real talent who is starting to come into his own at last. 7.0/10

Gonzalo Higuain: Worked hard again, menacing the SPAL defence with his smart running and linkup with the Dybala. Took his goal with a great strikers finish and should have had his second near the end. Hoping that the return to goals will continue into the weekend match against Milan. 7.0/10

Substitutes

Juan Cuadrado: Another fantastic display – For all his faults, he is a great option to have in the squad because of his tireless work-rate and ability to pop up at just the right time. Could easily have had a second goal tonight and worked relentlessly until the final whistle. 6.5/10

Miralem Pjanic: Came in for Bentancur to help steady things in the centre of the pitch and Juve instantly looked better as a result. Intelligent passing and good tackles. 6.0/10

Claudio Marchisio: A brief cameo late in the match and a very solid 10 minutes at that. Shielding the defence and closing down SPAL when in possession. Played a lovely ball for Higuain’s disallowed goal. N/A
