    Yes.

If our team hadn't been so dysfunctional/plagued by injuries last year, he shouldn't have started for us. That's also true for the 2009-10 season.

I am not content with finishing 7th two seasons in a row and if we want to qualify for the CL, Del Piero has to be our 4th striker.
Do you know he has been our best player ever since Serie B? Statistically speaking. But if you're the type of person that sees nothing but aging figures then that's something else. If you think Ale has to retire based on his perfomances in his last couple of years and if you think he played a big part of Juve finishing 7th then by your logic 90% of the team should retire.

If you wanna argue tactically and performances individual ratings then lets start, if we're going to discuss age then there's no point :)

    ??

Del Piero was not the reason we finished 7th two seasons in a row. Scoring goals (which DP still does) was never our problem, its conceeding them. Also we have/had a team of mental pussies, Del Piero is probably the only player in our team at the moment who can really make a difference and lift the team when it isnt playing well.
Of course he wasn't the reason we finished 7th but we won't progress if we keep starting him, that's what I meant.

Lower, if that means that we'd have played the other strikers we have instead(Amauri, Iaquinta).

Higher, if we had had a better SS.
Missing the whole point there. Del piero has been one of your best players in the past 2 seasons as well. Sure you would have finished higher with a better ss,but why replace something that is working well when you could have easily finished higher with a better LW,RW,CM,DM,CBs,LB,RG,coach, general director, haircuts and kits, better names than "escape goat" .

Sure, just replace del piero and play with motta, pepe, amauri and other 40 juve players.

Del Piero was undoubtedly out best player in 2007-08 and 2008-09 and was still great.

He should have stopped being a starter from 2009-10 and on.

Like I said, he obviously isn't the reason we finished 7th two seasons in a row. However, I just can't see us competing for 3rd spot with him starting.

We have Vucinic, Matri and Quag who are more efficient them him now.

I love Del Piero as much as anyone here.

    I am just being realistic
    .
I doubt. He has fought his heart and spat blood last season. Running at the age of 36-37 more than these useless youngsters and superstars we have in our team.

Also, at his age, he needs services and creativity around him on the pitch, something we didn't witness last year.

Wow. I didn't know one would think Ale plays a big part of our team's failure.

Sure, I will never deny that.

Sadly, Matri, Vucinic and Quag are more effective them him these days.

He didn't say that. He said if Ale keeps starting, we won't be able to get 3d. He would get tired to quick and end up being ineffective very shortly.
So, with Ale on the bench we'd get 3rd place and maybe clinch 2nd place? Is that what he means?

I think with Milan benching Robinho, they wont reach the quarter finals of CL. How does this sound to you?

You also said he shouldn't have started in the previous years had the team not been "dysfunctional/had injuries". Who would you have started then? amauri? IAQ? coz that has always worked so great for you.

Im not Juve fan,but its like you don't know what you are talking about/you don't watch any matches.
