“I would not focus on that [defensive errors]. We had a few more days to rest, so there was energy, but we didn’t kill off the game. We had to manage the game differently. We conceded too much at the back, but they are a quality team. Ultimately, the result counts, and we could not score an extra goal.

“We had many good moments today, and we would have deserved to score the third goal. This is what we lacked today,” continued the former midfielder.

“We managed the defensive phase well in other games, including against Manchester City. Today we had to score the third to kill off the game. We have lads like Khephren Manu, Savo, Francisco and Koopmeiners who have a desire to go ahead and score goals. They can drag the others as well.

“We must be more clinical and improve. That’s where you make a difference.”

During a post-match press conference attended by Football Italia, Motta added: “I don’t believe in bad luck. We should have killed off the game and don’t leave a chance to the opponent. I don’t believe in bad luck. I believe in merit.”

Juventus are now off to Saudi Arabia, where they will meet Milan in the Supercoppa semifinal on January 3.

Juventus have 11 draws and seven victories in Serie A this season.

Their next league game is the Turin derby against Torino on January 11.

i promise you this won't happen even if harry kane was striker of this juve. maybe 2-3 more wins than vlahovic but you can't expect striker to do all the work while rest of team does nothing. we watching football not tennis.
Disagree. Harry Kane is a lethal finisher and would bury any half-chance. The problem is that when Vlahovic gets neutralised, we have no other option. I mentioned M Thuram because he's a different type of striker and sometimes you just need to substitute a different type of player in for maximum impact. Its also down to the type of wingers we have. Conceicao cuts in a lot and rarely crosses early while Vlahovic would benefit a lot if he got early crosses when there are fewer defender around him. Mbangula is more direct, but still very raw. Yildiz is like Conceicao and likes to cut in to shoot.

I think we need to tweak things more than make major changes, but also not to make mistakes in the transfer window. Zirkzee is a decent player in terms of movement, but he won't outscore Vlahovic. We need players that offer something different, Milik will not help win games because he's a Temu Vlahovic. I'd sell Luiz while he holds some value and get a quality striker and a reliable Bremer replacement.

A better performance. We deserve win this time if not error from backline. Need better coordination there. In second goal, fio should have seen their momentum gone after cambiaso's slip, but then Savona move to center to block shooting, but no one cover his abandoned area. Sottil free.

Attacking wise, i was surprised that we did quite well in koop as no 10 and vlahovic awful performance. In the past, if koop play there and our no. 9 whoever it was play bad, we barely made better chances.

If we can addres this issue and continue work more on our attacking phase, i think we can hope a better result next time.

Basically this is the performance that we want to see, but not the result. We can see there are some mixed idea after we take the lead, some players want to lower the tempo and take a breather, while there are some other players want to push through to kill the game.

The problem is we dont maximize our dominant after we take the lead. With our current pressing game, we can see the drop of stamina at the final 10 minutes of the game and this is where opponent snatch the fluke goal. And if we subbed out some of the key players, we will see the drop of quality that can end up to conceded

If all the players are on the same page and kill the game earlier , with 3-1 scoreline then all players focus on lower the tempo and just passing the ball around maintain the possession, while trying to find the opening when opportunity arise to add more goals

I dont see Vlahovic as a footballer, he is just a striker, someone who can kick the ball
His dribbling is below average, his passing and link up play is below average, his first touch is below average, even his heading, winning aerial duel is just bang average. Basically all these skills are the requirement to become a professional footballer, especially at the top level. Low football IQ

I imagine, if McKennie has the Vlahovic body, he will have a chance to become a Ballon D'or winner

I will say not only Kane would finish it better he would also make others better but judging on how free N.Gonzales was in comparison to Vlahovic - I think we need the fast dribbler but also a good finisher type.
I dont know about Kolo Moani but he does seem like the type (youtube)

Watching Dybala yesterday and his movement, link-up, and finishing, he'd thrive in this current system and would offer so many assists to Yildiz and Conceicao. Vlahovic is too basic so perhaps we try and play to his strengths more if possible, perhaps the LB and RB overlap more and offer more crosses, but we don't play like that now. I don't know who's available, but they have to be very fast at least and be able to score the simple goals.

Dybala is very good but I think he is mostly injured nowadays
