Bit of a sneaky edit. I think the 4-4-2 would work best against sides like Novara. We need to push forward making sure we don't isolate our CF and attack the wings when necessary with the most technical players we have. A 4-3-3 with Giaccherini and Pepe is not what I was hoping for. The lone striker approach doesn't work for us and Pepe is useless against sides like these.

I agree here except that I think that posted formation is indeed a 4-4-2.

BTW, according to that same formation, Licht is a sweeper!
