I'm still confused....why was Mauro called up?
I guess it's because Lippi doesn't have many options for MR. The only other MR is Maggio and Lippi isn't convinced by Maggio, who isn't a typical MR.
Mauro is the only worthy MR in Italy.

But this is a friendly and it should've been the opportunity to call some other MRs and see how will that work.
Then again, if you were Lippi, which MR would you have called for tonight's match?

True that.

I think I would have called Molinaro and put him as a MR :D

Udinese striker Fabio Quagliarella won't feature in Italy's friendly with Greece this evening after damaging his nose in training.

The 25-year-old wasn't expected to start in Athens with Marcello Lippi likely to trust in a trident of Giuseppe Rossi, Luca Toni and Mauro Camoranesi.

But now Quagliarella won't even have the chance to impress as a substitute after sustaining an unlucky minor injury in training.

Quagliarella suffered a blow to his nose and had to return to the dressing room to be attended to by La Nazionale's doctor Enrico Castellacci.

The Friulani star was taken to hospital in the Greek capital where he will undergo scans to ascertain the extent of the injury and rule out the possibility of a break.

The Azzurri had a light training session today and spent the majority of the time practising set-pieces ahead of their friendly clash.

Camo is fantastic really. I like to load him into my anal cannon and shoot him right at Massimo Moratti.

Hopefully Moratti would not survive the attack.

For real??? Does that even ever happen? Its allowed???

I mean, thats just like 5 thousand more then what we get at our home games in Olimpico.
Away fans are allowed to fill 10% of the host's stadium AFAIK (is it true?). San Siro's capacity is around 80,000 so I think we are allowed to have about 8000 fans there.

To rest him and try other players. Same was done with Mellberg and Elmander.
Bah, you arrange a friendly against Holland and then you don't call your best players up? Ridiculous IMO.
