And another match thread ruined with another Del Piero debate. Can't go anywhere on this forum without seeing the same people argue over Del Piero.

Did Del Piero have a decent season last year? Yes.
Does Del Piero deserve a place on the Juventus roster this season? Of course.
Does Del Piero deserve a spot in front of Ibrahimovic and Trezeguet? Not really.
Has Del Piero been treated unfairly by Capello in the past? Yes to some extent.
Does Ibrahimovic deserve to play? Yes of course.
Is Trezeguet irreplaceable in our sqaud? Yes indeed.
Does Del Piero deserve playing time? Yes of course.
Does Mutu deserve playing time? Yes of course.
Is this worth time arguing over? No.

Buffon backs Del Piero

ItalyJuventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has publicly defended his club captain and international colleague Alessandro Del Piero.

The Italy striker left the Azzurri's training headquarters with suspicion hanging over the 30-year-old's head that he used a muscle strain as a pretense to walk out of Marcello Lippi's side to face Belarus.

Despite Juve's medical staff confirming the legitimacy of the injury, Buffon has been moved to defend Del Piero's character.

"He's had other setbacks in his career but has always come back a special player," Buffon told La Stampa.

"I have read unpleasant things about his return from the national team.

"You can say many things about Del Piero but you can't attack his professionalism."
Del Piero will now be forced to sit out Sunday's Serie A match with Empoli and may also miss the UEFA Champions League tie with Club Brugge.
Word.

Actually you guys are using double standards more than others ;)

1) Zlatan did not have a good match against Chievo - let's bench him!
2) DP did not have a good match against <insert team name> - let's give him another chance!
Simply not true.

this means you can not say that there are players that are better than DP at the moment, because we even did not see him playing..
and trez should have scored at least 4 goals in that game..
so trez didnt play good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
plz review the points given to the players by la gazetta dello sport or any other source.

Last season Del Piero was benched all the time ,no metter how others perform.
Are you agree on that Zizou?
FFS he was a starter! That proves that Capello had faith in him, then there's nothing wrong that the coach substitutes him for tactical reasons.

I saw it all.I know what you've been talking about.
The poiny is that when other players screw up they'll continue to play, but if Del Piero misses(like in Coppa Italia) let's bench him. That is not the correct relation to a player, and those are the double standards.
It is obvious that Del Piero is facing with it.
He is good and he can play, and still there is no better solution besides Del Piero in the attack,of course IMO.
That is not just because I adore him, here is the example,I like Olivera but he is just not good enough to play and that's the fact.I like Tacchinardi, but there was no place for him(Emerson,Vieira,Blasi,Giannichedda).
All this post that exhausted your simple mind to write proves my point that you jump into conclusions and have absolutely no idea what I was talking about.

I will be kind enough to explain to you what was it.

The statement I made was about Trezeguet. What about the Frenchie? He's a striker, a goal scoring machine and probably the only player who is a natural finisher. He misses lots of chances, fuck, he might miss all evening, but at one moment in the game he might score a decider. Did you understand it or you want simpler English?

Simply not true.

Maybe not you Seven and probably not Stuart either, but giovanotti and Maresca and Azzurri7 surely do use this double standard.

I want everyone benched when they're not giving, not only Zlatan or Trezguet, but Cannavaro and Emerson Vieira, All.....Who's not giving a good job, just Subs him...not keep him on the pitch when he's useless..

You got the point...or still?

And after benching the whole team, when do you let them play again?

Why would I ask Capello about a plan of YOURS?
For Example, If Zlatan is having a bad game, Put Dp instead of him, and If Dp was moving good having a good game, play him the next match, the next match he didn't play good or he didn't performe good, Put Zlatan back...you got my point???

I've explained it more than 1000times...JeeZ

Since you are relying to examples, let me give you an example.

Last season in December tha game against Milan in Delle Alpi. Let us all be honest and reasonable, Cannavaro and Buffon were the only ones that played well. The next game you want 9 out of the starting 11 to be benched? That does not make sense Rab, check your theory again.

We bench atleast 2players for the next game, not keep them in the formation for the next week, atleast make some changes in tactics and etc......
