No, players with best form is Zlatan and Mutu, but Mutu has to earn the right to play from the start in a Juve jersey and not in a national team jersey.

Expekt Zlatan and Trez to start and either Zala or Mutu to come in on the second half. Eitehr way Piero is getting screwed, Capello has too many players on form to chose from.

Happy?:D

Empoli – Juventus

Stadio Castellani

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last time Empoli were in Serie A during the 2003-04 season they shocked the peninsula by holding Juventus to a thrilling 3-3 draw at the Stadio Carlo Castellani. The Azzurri will be hoping that once again their home advantage will prove so decisive after their defeat to Udinese. While Juventus were hardly spectacular against Chievo they did all that was needed and will expect another win from this encounter.

Empoli will change to a more defensive 4-2-3-1 formation in an effort to control Juve’s formidable forward line. Nicola Ascoli and Emanuel Michelotti are both still injured which means that the only change in defence comes as Stefano Lucchini is sacrificed to accommodate Francesco Lodi, as Antonio Buscè moves to right-back. Francesco Tavano will shift to the right wing and Mirco Gasparetto is surprisingly chosen as the lone striker, despite the signing of Christian Riganò.

Juventus will make only one change to the side that cruised to victory over Chievo. This comes as Jonathan Zebina joins long-term patients Gianluigi Buffon and Alessandro Birindelli in the treatment room. The French defender suffered a recurrence of last season’s muscular injury in the early stages against the Gialloblu and is likely to miss the visit to Empoli. He will be replaced by Gianluca Pessotto, the same person who came on as a substitute to replace him in Week 1. David Trezeguet continues to partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic up-front, so Alex Del Piero will have to be content with a place on the bench – if he recovers from injury in time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Empoli (probable): Berti; Buscè, Coda, Vanigli, Bonetto; Ficini, Almiron; Lodi, Vannucchi, Tavano; Gasparetto

Juventus (probable): Abbiati; Pessotto, Thuram, Cannavaro, Zambrotta; Camoranesi, Emerson, Vieira, Nedved; Trezeguet, Ibrahimovic

Empoli To Give Super Performance Against Juve – Lodi
9/7/2005 9:42:00 AM
This will be the Serie A debut for the Tuscan side in front of its own fans.
Francesco Lodi is looking forward for Sunday’s match when Empoli will host the current Serie A winners, Juventus, at the Castellini stadium.

“Surely this is one of the most important matches for the city and also for us it will be a special match. It will be the debut at home and in front of our fans we want to have a super performance."

Lodi sees good harmony within the team.

“We are working well, the environment of the dressing room is very good. If we want to obtain a positive result we must give 110%.”

well i hope alex gets fit to play... although i dont think he will get a chance to play.

the empoli game is a very tricky actually.the last game we played against them ended 3-3.But they guy who scored three goals against us is in roma playing with lazio.

I think the team will play a better game then the one against chievo.Cuz i think they wont be defending the same as cheivo. They will be out to get us.They will leave some spaces in the back.

I have a couple of concerns though, the first is thuram after his injury with his beloved "france".The other concern is fatigue.I hope the players wont be very tired after this very physical week of international games.
