They were saying on Rai after the Roma game, that the Iaquinta incident should have been a PK
Let's not look to hand-outs to bail out this team. There's no reason a team the caliber of Juve should not be able to score a natural goal against a team the caliber of Empoli.

Andy says it was a great match, best match he's seen since the 2000 Champions League Final. Zidane had a brilliant strike in the 56th minute, what a volley that was, and Raul was simply stunning out there along with Roberto Carlos. The defense was superb. But the most glorious facet of the match, according to Andy, is that Del Bosque got the tactics totally correct. Amazing tactician he says.
:lol2: Del Bosque tickles my wiener with his moustache.

And don't you people find it strange that eventhough Empoli were missing some of their best players due to injuries they still didn't start with their best two players Vannucchi and Giovinco ?
I noted that. I think that had to do with the weird player politics of ownership, loans, etc.

After receiving so much praise (even from me) for the game plan and tactics used in the Napoli game
Praise I was shocked you gave, as I don't think he deserved any of it. The Napoli game was a generally sucky game where we got lucky before time ended.

Common sense would have told any amateur coach out there that the best plan of action against Empoli would be to go out there with the same players, formation, and tactics that were used against a better team in Napoli, and get the guaranteed 3 points. I dont see us beating Inter at the weekend (not the way we played today), so these 3 points were crucial.....not to mention that Roma, Fiorentina, and Milan lost today
I think here is the big issue. Does it make sense to save up for Inter at the risk of blowing points against Empoli?

Given where we are, I would have favored going out for 3 points against Empoli and resting starters with subs as a tactic for getting them ready for Inter. What we couldn't afford to do is get 0 or 1 point versus Empoli and get 0 or 1 versus Inter. We should have grabbed the three at all costs over risking ties.

That strategy alone could cost us 1-2 points in the end over the two matches.

i couldnt watch the match, i heard it was a bore draw. how did well and who didnt?

also what formation did we use?
It was the most booring match i have seen this season.

Finding someone who did well is really hard when the team produce 9O mn like those. Molinaro and Camoranesi where completly*****.. We played at nine on the bigening until CR substite Molinaro (after 28mn) then we were playing at 10...
The best juventino for me was Legrotaglie. Del Piero also tried to do something, made some shoots, won many free kick but he was also suffering at the end. Can't do so many matchs at the same high level on a few days, and when we don't have the great Alex we can't do better.

The best players for us to night should be Maggio (Sampdoria) and Lavezzi (Napoli)

I doubt that was the case yesterday because Vannucchi is completely owned by Empoli while Giovinco didn't sit the entire match on the bench. He played some 15 minutes.

The more i think about it the more i'm convinced that both teams played for a draw. They started the match with the draw on their minds.
Why in hell would Empoli start the match without the best players when they were already missing 4 or 5 first team players ?
They were missing both strikers and they still didn't start both attacking midfielders. Why would that happen ?

And on the other side we rest 3 of our best players.

Fixed is a very strong word but i think that we wanted to give Empoli a very much needed point in their relegation fight.
We knew the results in other matches and we would have probably won the match if Milan and Fiorentina were losing. This way it ended with a friendly and completely chanceless draw between two friendly teams.

I'm usually all against such conspiracy-theories, but i kind of have to agree with alen. Everyone who watched the match yesterday will agree to that. It's not possible that there is not one real goal chance for any team during 90 minutes...
I don't know really... it sounds all too crazy for me.

I just hope we realise that if Del Piero is not in form, nothing happens up front. The need for a offensive midfielder/trequartista/creative midfielder is so damn obvious.
Tiago was awful... i can't really find anyone who did a decent job.

I can't believe i paid 9 bucks to watch that game. Cobolli, i want my money back :)

How can Juve go for a draw when we cant affoard losing points?!!! No one was sure Milan and fiorentina will lose...
well you're right, and we probably should not go to far into such talks, but all these games had quite "strange" results. Nobody expected all these endings, and well..... you know.... after all these things that happened, nothing would surprise me anymore. But you're right, it's quite idiotic to talk about fixed games and all... we'd never know anyway. Let's not get too paranoid

''We tried, but we didn't manage to win. It's always better to get a point rather than nothing.'' Ranieri

I cant believe ur words are worse than ur Tactics!!

Tried our Best!!! When was this,we didnt have even one true chance on their goal, this was maybe one of the most boring matches in the History of Football!

The result is disappointing as we could've gained more ground on the teams under us and we could've been closer to the 2nd place.

Anyway, i heard all the players weren't up for it so i guess they weren't prepared to it very well. Its very hard since this game was midweek, as i think if it was on the weekend it would be another ball game.

however one thing i really hated was that on the official website the title was that we were denied a clear penalty when it was clearly not.Iaquinta took a slight dive and the ball was going away from him. This is getting serious, we are whining about a soft penalty when the team played horribly. This needs to be controlled, as this was not called for. Its different if its clear or if we were playing well and its a bad call but if we're going to whine just for the hell of it then we are justifying underperformance.
