I agree, the fragmentation of TV rights is a joke. Especially here in Australia:
Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga: BEIN Sport ($150 a year)
EPL & Internationals: Optus Sport ($160 a year)
UEFA Club Competitions: Stan Sport ($37 per month)
FA Cup & A-League: Paramount+ ($11 per month)
Ligue 1: Not available in Australia
damn man, that fragmantation and those fees lol
for comparison, here in hungary i'm paying ~9,3k huf (~23 €, ~38 aud on current rates) for a combined package of cable tv, 1 gig fiber optic internet service and landline phone line that i don't even use. on tv, i have 7 local sports channels with the following leagues:
- serie a (2-5 games per week)
- cl (2-4 games; an online channel has the right to pick the "best" game of the matchday though, that's an additional fee)
- pl
- bundesliga (2-4 games)
- la liga
- turkish süper lig
- portuguese 1st division
- spanish, english, italian, german cups
- hungarian 1st league and cup
- saudi league
this week's football games on tv:

complete overkill. plus there's handball bundesliga and cl, selected nba games, nfl, darts, and whatever eurosport has to offer (grand slam tennis, cycling, olympics, etc)
i guess we're lucky with our tv channels and fees. crazy differences between countries
