Sardinians not scared of Juve
Sunday 16 January, 2005

Daniele Arrigoni’s men are very strong on home turf and they aim to attack visiting Juventus from the start this evening.

“Why on earth should I change my tactics for this match?” asked the Cagliari Coach in his Press conference.

“This team has been playing successfully with the 4-3-3 system for two years and that has remained the same whether home or away, against meagre or world class opposition. Cagliari have three strikers upfront and that’s all there is to it.”

The trio has been devastating so far this season, carrying on from where it left off in its promotion campaign from Serie B. Gianfranco Zola and Mauro Esposito are sure to start, but Antonio Langella is battling with David Suazo for the third spot.

Cagliari are on a high after eliminating trophy holders Lazio from the Coppa Italia midweek and they want to continue the giant-killing spree.

“A draw would not be a disappointment,” noted Arrigoni, “but I don’t want to waste this wonderful opportunity to take on Juventus. We will give everything we’ve got and hope for the best, but we certainly won’t settle.”

20 of Cagliari’s 25 points in the Serie A table this season have been earned at the Stadio Sant’Elia with a single defeat to Milan and two draws, including the spectacular 3-3 against Inter.

seems that Cagliari coach is entering this match with a winning mentality, if that is correct it will be better for us if they attack cause we will find some space on the counter-attack!!
