I have already done the whole match in the blog but after reading some of the comments here I have to respond to some things

I dont know how people who watched the game would say that Chiellini was our best defender, he wasn't, Foggia had him on toast for most of the game.

Future captain my ass. How can he possibly react that way to a decision, a better referee than bozo the clown would have sent him off.

Andrade was better that he was and Legrottaglie should be sent to a funny farm. I have seen pigs defend their food better.

Zanetti was good and about the only good player in the midfield bar camoranesi so why he is given poor marks is beyond me.

We are too slow. Dp does everything in slow motion but his off the ball movement is first class

Nocerino should always start as he has energy and bitebut not on the right.

Chiellini should be put in the middle with Andrade as he cannot cross for shite

If these were sides that i am sure would finish comfortably in midtable, I would not mind but Livorno and Cagliari are in my view candidates for relegation so the results though welcome are not that relevant to me.

The much maligned iaquinta might just be what we need because Trez, Nedved and Dp up front would confuse people watching a game live as they would think they are watching in slow motion.

Permanent replacement for Dp and Nedved should now be a priority as these guys need to be benched in more matches than they start.

They have the quality, anyone can see that but no pace to trouble defenders with pace and quality and we are going to face those on a consistent basis this season

I understood his anger, especially on the back of terrible decisions that kept Juve at bay. If the ref kept giving pens and giving all the decision to Cagliari I would be pissed off. The decisions he was making were just ludicrous..

Couldnt have agreed more! I have no problem with those three individually but the as a collective unit, they don't complement each other. I dont know why Ranieri play 4-4-2 formation, because if you want to use that formation, you better have players who can beat opposition one vs one, which havent got any. For this season, I think smart thing is to maximize creative capacity of Camoranesi, and I think he will be good for trequarsista, because his main strenght is incredible awareness on the pitch, and excellent brain. You can always stick him on the right if things dont work out, but Nedved should not play on the wing at this stage of his career.

I like it. Although I think it was just a one off for Nedved today, he'll be more sharp the next game. Besides, he has a one week break anyway, with him not playing any international game next week.

Bingo! I would personally try out Camo in that role flanked by Iaquinta and Trezeguet. If Camo feels uncomfortable, I think we can switch him to the right, as Lazio did with Del Nero, and Tiago can play more advance position with more freedom, since he, too, has excellent football brain. Next year, we need somebody like Quaresma, and Nasri who can penetrate from midfield, and unbalance the opposition defence. On Nedved, I am not writing him off, and good mention Dominic on international break, which I didnt take into consideration. But throughout the season, we will have in my view, have to rotate Ale and Nedved with Tiago, Nocerino and Iaquinta. I think we got Roma coming up pretty soon, so I would like to see Ale and Nedved sit out one match be it next week or week after. And, I want Nedved to continue for one more year. I think we owe him CL games.

I have to diagree partly on Zanetti. The problem I have with Zanetti is that he is very slow thinker on the ball. His distribution is not good enough for my liking. Its similar to your issue with Chiellini. I want my CM to be at least decent passer of the ball, which Zanetti is not. However, for a time being, Zanetti's defensive positioning is what preventing this team from conceding more goals, and he hasnt been bad, so he gets nod fromme. But when it comes to next year, Zanetti is one of few players, I would definitely look at for upgrade. I think he can contribute to Lo Scudetto calibre Juve, but just not as a starting eleven. As for Chiellini, I agree. I think his attributes are best geared up for CB. But I think he can be one heck of CB, one of the very best in the world. But for the penalty; I can understand his anger. We were just been penalized with non-existent one anyway. And Chiellini knows better than anyone that he didnt foul. He just snap his nervous, but what way to come back, and score winner near loss time. I love the lad.

I am not too sure though. I definitely want veteran defender for at least cover by January, because Legro simply isnt good enough. I loved denco's analogy that even pigs can defend their food better! .

But right now, we have the option of switching Chiellini to CB. The boy has unbelievable strenght, leap, speed for CB. He has all the attributes. I think Chiellini will make better CB than LB, even if he is still pretty decent LB for me anyway. Switch Chiellini CB, and let Molinaro play. I don't know too much about Molinaro, but his scouting report is pretty good, so its worth a try.

He wasn't injured. If you ask me, I think Ranieri took him out because he isn't experienced enough to stand the attacks Cagliari were making. If you further ask me I would say Ranieri should have approached the solution otherwise.

Taking out a defender when he isn't injured after only 45 minutes is very strange . I missed the game , but I think Ranieri didn't have too much trust in him . He still is very young afterall and needs much more experience .
