this is just the kind of victory i like to see before a big Champions League game - a win by a single goal which doesn't make the team overconfident.

I disagree with people who say that Del Piero's deflected freekick would have gone in anyway. If you look from a different angle, and look closely at the trajectory of the ball, it would have probably hit the upright or maybe even missed completely.

Good job by Iuliano to come in and stick his foot in there. This wasn't like what Tomasson did last year vs Ajax when he tapped a ball that was definitely heading into goal.

Besides there was a Bologna defender nearby and so anything could have happened if Iuliano hadn't touched the ball.

So the man deserves full credit. He's been getting a lot of criticizm from us and rightly so but lets not take anything away from him today for that goal he scored for us.

Now its time for the Champions League.

Iuliano- this guy cant play defense, so lets move him up to striker !!!!!!
that is by far the best idea i heard from u. :p.. i have been thinking a lot how trezeguet dont have a subtitute and competition for his spot... this goal would give Iuliano an edge now over Tudor for that role ....;)

any decent professional footballer would be stupid to let the ball go just becoz there is a chance that it can go straight in..

That reminds me of Batistuta when he first went to Roma. He was so desperate for a goal that once, the ball was headed into the goal at a fairly decent pace, and there were no defenders or keepers in sight. He ran at the ball as fast as he could and tried to slide so he could get a touch. He didn't

our defence was much better than earlier this season.. specially Montero.. most of you would surprised to know that the worst defender last night was Zambrotta.. YES, IMHO, he was not the real zambrotta that we knew.. I don't know, but since lippi tried him in the right side a couple of matches ago.. he didn't do well even when he got back to his normal position (left).. I'm starting to worry about him.

anyway, we deserved our 3 points and played a very solid football in defence.. and our attacks were very well organized.. we could have ended the match with a big margin, but DV was completely off-form, and I think he was the worst player on the pitch last night..

as IceBlu said, maybe it is better to win by a single goal.. so the team won't be overconfident..

Clean sheet for the second consecutive time..!! :thumb:

Domenica Sportiva, Tuttosport and Bettega (!) say Iuliano's goal was offside

I have not seen it yet..

    Any comments?
as I've watched on German broadcasts it wasn't an offside-goal. DP's free-kick was deflected by a player of Bologna ... so, no offside anyway

I wasn't gonna say anything about this, but i keep seeing it.. may I point you in the direction of the "edit" button? You can change the content of your posts instead of making a new post with your changes. Just a suggestion :)
