You can't look at it that way. You must count draws+defeats because you lose pts in both.

So far we lost points in 8 matches.
Milan won the league last year by losing points in 14 matches. Inter won the previous one by losing points in 14 matches, just like Milan last year, etc etc etc.

The points we lost (lost, not won, of course) with the draws are a handicap indeed, but you're counting things in a wrong way.

I'm not saying not to play Del Piero. That's not an argument I'm willing to get into right now.

Effective at what? How about goals and assists? Not to mention intangible qualities that don't show up in numbers, but I know that's not important for a lot of people who here who play FIFA because they think anyone can just hold down R1 and chase after every ball and close down the opposition high up the pitch when not it possession and cover out of position players.
