Is Quag back ? Want to see him starting next to Vuci up front, let Matri have a bench role this time.
I dunt think Conte will take a risk to play Elia away from home. surely we will take a much more defensive approach and play Pepe instead.
This game is our half season game, hopefully we win and stay top.

Holy shit Mino, I was so thinking how much we resemble Arsenal earlier when I was taking a dump! From a counter attacking side with powerful, fast, technical players with a mix of flair, to a side that uses possession football and has short midfielders.
Lol I always think about football tactics and shit when I'm dropping a turd or showering as well. But yeah, our lack of taking shots is very reminiscent of Wenger's teams.

:disagree: terrible lineup. What has Borriello done to deserve a start? DP on the flank? You gotta be kidding me?! Taking out Pirlo for the ineffective, lazy, and talentless Pepe? OMG!
Yeah, calm down. If it was up to me, we wouldn't be playing this formation - but Conte seems to prefer it.

If Quag is back, I'd start him in front of Borriello. He's only a 50/50 for this game, so I took the safer option. Would you rather play an out-of-form Matri, or even Toni, Iaquinta, or Amauri?

Matri is out of form, and needs to start from the bench to know that his place is not guaranteed. Same as Pirlo, who has been poor for a while now.

Pepe? Lazy? That's probably one of the last things he is.

Also, DP is not on a flank in that formation - maybe you should familiarise yourself with the term first.

Why the hostility mate? :p Del Piero is being deployed as a LWF in your formation, which by definition would imply him marauding the left flank, which he is not suited to at that age.

Pepe can't be played as a CM; he has the passing abilities of a castrated camel on crutches. Moreover, when I said lazy, I meant by his standards. He hasn't been as effective or efficient in recent outings. If Pirlo and Matri deserve to be benched, then by your logic, Pepe is guilty of under performing over that past few weeks, and hence needs to sit his big behind on the bench as well.

Borriello is an unknown quantity, and a player I personally don't rate at all.

Have a nice day :)

We just seem to disagree - it doesn't mean my opinion is terrible. I'd rather change things/players around rather than doing the same thing over & over and expecting it to work.

I also think Pepe has done better than Matri and Pirlo over the past month, hence why he'd start in a wider central midfield position working/overlapping with Lichtsteiner in a WB role (which we don't do anywhere near enough of). Because of this, I'd be playing the front 3 tighter, rather than the lone striker and two WFs. We're not suited to having a lone striker, and none of our players are capable/on form to do so.

Borriello did okay in the few minutes we saw of him. He played a couple of nice passes which could easily have led to goals. As I said earlier though, I'd prefer Quag any day over him. (not that much of a Borriello fan myself, but he provided something Matri couldn't)

All I want is a couple of positional and tactical changes. These draws will definitely come back to bite us if we don't start converting them soon.

------------Buffon-----------------
Lichtsteiner-Barzagli-Chiellini-De Ceglie
-----Vidal-Pirlo-Marchisio-----------
-----Elia-Del Piero-Vucinic----------

or

-------------Buffon-----------------
Lichtsteiner-Barzagli-Chiellini-De Ceglie
--------Vidal--Marchisio-------------
Elia-----------------------Vucinic---
--------Del Piero--Matri-------------

fact: De Ceglie proved in one match he is a better option than putting chiellini on the LB position so we can play with 10 man and the oponents with 12 man (striker called bonucci)
fact: Vucinic is awesome
fact: we need players who can go around an opponent, in stead of keep on passing untill someone fails

so in my opinion.. these formations would do...

I like the 2'nd one better, simply because I don't think DP possesses the attributes to function as a lone striker. He is no target man. He has lost a lot of pace as a result of age, is too short, and isn't sharp enough anymore to command that position.

Buffon
Lichtsteiner - Barzagli - Bonucci - Chiellini
Pirlo
Pepe - Vidal - Marchisio - Elia
Vucinic

Thats how I would play honestly.

Depends. When Vucinic played as a lone striker against Peelan you could see he was the only one who could make it work if we want to keep possesion around the box and play the decisive pass in the box, which seems something we want but are failing awfully. Matri is going to a poor form and it might be benificious for our game in general.

The downside is that Vucinic is a shit finisher along with the rest and it could be raining chances without scoring a lot of goals.
