Don't forget that Marchionni is back now, so he's a possibility.

There is also the possibility of seeing this

Buffon
Zebina Legrottaglie Chiellini Molinaro
Nocerino Tiago Zanetti
Nedved
Iaquinta/Del Piero Trezeguet

Another option is:

Buffon
Zebina Legrottaglie Chiellini Molinaro
Marchionni Nocerino Zanetti Nedved
Iaquinta/Del Piero Nedved

What I prefer is:

Buffon
Zebina Legrottaglie Chiellini Molinaro
Nocerino Zanetti
Nedved
Iaquinta Trezeguet Del Piero
I would play the first one,& I wouldnt mind the 2nd one with Palladino replacing marchio coz i dont think Marchio should be a starter after just one match,it could be risky.

As for the 3rd one, against a midfield consisting of Gattuso, pirlo,Ambrossini.Seedorf & Kaka, playingt this formation will be a suicide.

Anyway i think Ranieri will play the 2nd with palladino replacing Marchio & I will respect him a lot if he played the first.

If the third one is played exactly how you put It, with Pavel behind attackers, It would be just great.
No it wont,we will be dominated the whole match,we will try to play on counter attacks but we will fail becoz unlike roma,Milan have players like Gattuso & Ambrossini who will know exactly how to stop the ball from going to our forwards.

why does milan do so well in the CL, but not as well in serie a, especially in the san zero? the main reason is that in CL, teams are more open and tend to attack more(i know it sounds cliche), whereas in serie a, especially at the san zero, teams sit back and hit on the counter.

i'm not saying we go there with the mindset of empoli and sit back for 90 minutes, but we should go smart like roma did. if we attack too much, pirlo and kaka will eat us. we must frustrate them, be direct, physical and clinical.

that's why i say start with the 4-4-2. trez and vinny up top. depending on the scoreline(if it is still goaless, or if we are behind), bring on dp. also sali, should start on the right side of midfield, and marco should eventually come on. nocerino and zanetti should be the CM duo once again, because it will be more beneficial to negate pirlo and kaka as much as we can than to try to be slightly more creative with tiago playing.

I don't see much diff between Roma's midfield and Milan. In-fact Roma's midfielders are much faster and do combine well together much more than Milan, incase you didn't notice that.

Both Iaquinta and Nedved can help defensivly, Zanetti is outstanding and Nocerino got stamina.

I don't see how we'll be playing counter attack system.

You would probably be satisfied with a draw, but I wont. We have what It takes to win the game and I trust the formation Jack posted, If It's only Pavel behind the attackers.

Molinaro was better offensively vs Palermo. VS Milan he'll have to worry about Oddo so he'll have to watch out for those crosses.

    I'd play:

    Buffon
    Zebina-Legrottaglie-Chiellini-Molinaro
    Zanetti
    Nocerino-Tiago
    Nedved
    Iaquinta-Trezeguet

It only takes one good to go in. Apart from that he does go up and down and Molinaro should should do the same to put pressure on Oddo.

I put Zanetti in front on the D to see the battle vs Kakà and Neddy behind the strikers vs Pirlo.

i like that formation mark. it would force kaka to move wide, which reduces his effectiveness, and would make pirlo somewhat useless, except that he would spend whole game spraying balls to the wing. once nocerino and tiago help cover oddo, serginho and kaka(who will be forced out wide) well, we should have little problem. if they resort to wing play, i think legro and chiellini can win the aerial battle against pippo or gila(just don't let that ball bounce in the box). plus, i like nedved in a more central role, with iaquinta drifing wide.

    Damnit, Camo why ?!

I like Marchionni, but he simply isn't able to provide the same creativity as Camo on his own.

The 4-3-3 with Iaquinta, Trez and DP looks the best option to me now, but it's also a bit fragile.

are you saying that because you are playing at home? or cuz you may not be on top form?
Because our stars aren't rested, because you guys are on a roll, becuase Buffon is the greatest keeper alive, because we're distracted with fatso again, becuase Gila is starting, because Kaka's form has dropped, because our LB options are Sergi or Favalli, because our keeper is Dida, because I fear Seedorf won't be fully fit, because our domestic form is suffering, because our home form is suffering, and because you bastards are pretty damn good.
