People forget that he was crucial for Lazio for a long time and they were angry to see him leave. He then went to Inter which was a disaster at the time. After spending two half seasons and a full season, he came to us. He didn't really play until the end of the year, where he put together a string of good games. Give the guy some games, and I'm sure he will hold his own. Will he be our best midfielder? no. But in the case of injury, he should be a capable substitute. He is good both offensively and defensively, is a good passer, and has an above average shot.

Pjanic does nice things when he touches the ball, but he really gets lost on the pitch. I have a hard time watching him strut about. I don't think this role gets the best out of him.
I agree with you about questionable performance for me too, but not 5.5 lol, more like 6.5.

Its extremely clear either Hernanes or Lemina should always play holding mid so Pjanic can play his mezzala role. Pjanic wasent even in good form today, but goddamn look at his contribution.

Lemina at cdm with pjanic cm : excellent
Hernanes at cdm with pjanic cm : also excellent

Really, i've hated him when he came and made that idiotic tackle vs city. But he grew alot throughout last season, and it became unfair to keep hating the player.

Such a good game today.

Can we say that Pjanic had a subpar game, yet still made incredible contribution to the result, showcasing the absolute need to play him at lcm and have Marchisio/Hernanes/Lemina at cdm ?

Cause sorry, but even at this questionable performance, i agree, he still had a baffeling output

I cant recall hernanes doing anything wrong, on the contrary, good dribbels, good passes, several interceptions

There simply was no opportunity to boo him

Did our fans boo/whistle Hernanes today again? Dazn had sound problems the whole time, had to turn off the sound...
No, in fact it was evident they had listened to Allegri and gave Hernanes a fair chance. Whenever he did something good, they applauded him. It happened several times, as he had a good game today.

Good game, great result, nice reaction after two pathetic performances. I was not one but impressed by Pjanic while I was extremely impressed by Rugnai. Dybala looks stressed and he is searching for a goal. The rest were good apart from Dani Alves who was awesome. It's refreshing to see a functioning midfield, hopefully Pjanic finds a better role in the team.

agree but one correction, that tackle was vs Gladbach not City.

it would be great if he could play the whole season in top form. we wouldnt have to worry about finding a CM in January and could use him to rotate with Marchisio and free up Lemina to rotate with Sami and Pjanic that way. hopefully Asa only gets to play Coppa games + few Serie A home games vs Crotone and the likes from now on

We played very good football today. From what i saw since the begining of the season, Hernanes is the best regista that we have available. Pjanic is an amazing player but needs more tactic discipline, there were situations that our left flank was only occupied by Alex Sandro. I loved to see our right flank Dani Alves, Lemina and Dybala combinations.

We need to be honest. Lemina has been great at CDM and B2B. Pjanic at lcm is mandatory when fit. Khedira playing rcm is mandatory when fit. Hernanes had the best performance of a CDM this season so far at juve.

All these players should be ahead of Asamoah in the picking order.

You got to feel for the guy. Moved to a trainwreck inter, and actually had one good year there. He then gets the opportunity to play for Juventus, but brought in as a disappointing signing vs. since fans expected a bigger name. From day 1, he was the panic buy that Inter didn't want. It completely ignored his merits as Lazio's best player a couple seasons before. And given that he is an intelligent midfielder, he wouldn't experience a crippling decline (like a winger, for instance) in just 2 seasons. He then rode the bench for most of the year, playing in one of the deepest midfields in football. I think it is fair to say, he hasn't had the easiest ride in terms of opportunities here.

Great management by Allegri addressing that in his press conference to relieve some pressure.

I have a weak spot when athletes refuse to trow the towel, and keep working hard to turn things around. Which is exactly what he has done compared to a year ago.
